I am not seeing many of my check bank register transactions from recently and going back - where are they?

Greetings, @waonet.

Thank you for visiting the Community. I'd be glad to assist you in finding the missing transactions in QuickBooks Online.

To ensure that I'm on the same page, are you not seeing the downloaded bank transactions in the register? If so, let me share some solutions to find them.

To start, let's make sure the transactions are downloaded into QuickBooks. You can manually download your latest transactions

However, if you know you've already downloaded them, let's check the Banking page to see where they are stuck.

Here's how:

  1. On the left pane, select Banking.
  2. At the top left, click the Banking tab.
  3. Start with the For Review tab. The transactions here are waiting to be categorized into an account. They won’t show up on reports until you do.
  4. Next, check the In QuickBooks tab. The Added or Matched column tells you which account a transaction moved to.
  5. Finally, check the Excluded tab. Those transactions won’t be added to QuickBooks.

If you notice a transaction in the In QuickBooks tab is in the wrong account, you can undo the categorization to move it to the correct account.

Here's how:

  1. From the In QuickBooks tab, review the Added or Matched column.
  2. For example: If a transaction is in Uncategorized Income or Uncategorized Expenses, select Undo from the action column.
  3. The transaction will go back to For Review so you can categorize it correctly.

For more details and additional step, you can also check this article: Find transactions downloaded from your online banks and credit cards.

However, if you already matched or added them, let's verify how your Bank register is filtered.

  1. From the left menu, select Accounting then Chart of Accounts.
  2. Find the bank account.
  3. Under the ACTION column, select View register.
  4. On the top left of the register, select the Date column, the arrow will point downward indicating it is sorted in descending order.
  5. Select the Funnel icon.
  6.  From Reconcile Status drop-down, choose All.
  7. Select Apply.
