Greetings, @kaleidoscape8397,

I appreciate your time visiting our forum. Let's make sure your bank transactions are added correctly in QuickBooks Online.

Before we begin, may I know if you're using bank rules? If so, it's possible that you have turned on the "Automatically add to my books option" in the Rules window.

To check that, please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Click the Rules tab.
  3. Uncheck the Automatically add to my books box.
  4. Hit Save.

To know more about rules, please check this article: How to set and use banking rules for downloaded transactions?

Please update me on the outcome or if you have additional questions about online banking, or about QBO, feel free to post them in the Community. I look forward to your response.

Jen_D,

Unfortunately, I do not have any rules set on the Rule tab under banking.  The BoA account doesn't even appear in the drop down for the Banking Tab.

The only way I can see the account is to look under Chart of Accounts and then view the register. both Account Type and Detail Type are set to "Credit Card".

I am not sure what's up.

Thanks,

Tina

It's possible that your BoA accounts was disconnected, Tina.

If the account was disconnected, you'll have to connect it again. You can also verify if the account is connected by checking on the Chart of Accounts page. You'll see that BoA has a "connected" arrow in the TYPE and DETAIL TYPE column.

If it has the "connected" arrow and isn't showing on the Banking page, this can be caused by browser-related issue. We can do a few troubleshooting steps to fix this.

Let's log in using a private browser and check if the account is showing on your Banking page. If so, we can clear your main browser's cache to remove stored data that caused your browser not to function well. You can also log in using other browsers.

You can also check this article for more information if accounts are disconnected or deleted

Reach out to me if you have other concern. I'll be around to assist you.
