Hi Mike,

At this time, exporting the bundled items is unavailable in QuickBooks Online. You'll need to enter them to record manually.

Also, you can import the products and services through excel file to your other QBO company file. Please check this article for the steps: How to import products and services from Excel.

You can also send feedback to our Products Developers Team. This way, your suggestion is analyzed for future product updates.

If you need further assistance, please know we're here to help you.

Hi,

How long till this function is implemented, the bundle function has been around at least a couple of years. Surely mass import shouldn't be that far off or that hard to implement

Hi there, JJL1990.

Once there's new features and improvements in QuickBooks Online (QBO), you'll receive an email notification about this one. This will also appear as a pop-up message when accessing your Online account.

In the meantime, you can import products and services from Excel to your other QBO company file. Then, manually group or bundle them into your sister company file.

I'll also personally share your product suggestion to our engineers about exporting bundled items in QBO.

Please visit the Community again if you have more questions about exporting and importing transactions. I'm here to help.

Hello Maria Soledad

Do you have any update on this feature to import bundles from Excel?

I also have more than 1000 new bundles to create and manually one by one is just impossible!

Please let me know

It's nice to have you here, @Mundakawg.

New features are added in QuickBooks when there are updates released by our engineers.

You can visit our QuickBooks Blog for news about feature and software update releases.

Don't worry I'll also pass this along to our engineers so they'd know of your suggestion.

In the meantime, you can follow the workaround provided by my colleagues above.

You can always fill me in if you have any other concerns. I'll be around to help.

I have over 1,000 bundles and I need to export them to then import them into a sister company, seperate Quickbooks operations. Can this be done?

I use Woocommerce and sell lots of bundled products.
I can create the bundled products in Quickbooks the same as in WooCommerce.
I can create a Sales Receipt transaction in Quickbooks to sell a bundled product and it reduces the stock of it's constituent items appropriately.

However, Quickbooks wont let me import a bundled product using a csv file.
Why is this?
Is there any way around it?
When will this be implemented?

Thanks,

Hi, @BeekeepingSuppliesUK.

Thanks for posting your concern here in the Community. Let me share some insights about importing products in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

I understand how importing a bundled product using a CSV file in QBO would be beneficial for your business. Currently, this is only applicable to banking transactions.

In the meantime, you can move your products and services info from Excel and import it to QBO. To do this, you can follow the detailed steps in this article: Import products and services from Excel

I also make sure to take note of your request and will inform you once we we receive product enhancement update about the availability of this option.

For future reference, you may want to check this article to learn more about the list and transactions that you can export/import in QBO using CSV file: Import/export CSV files

Please know that you're always welcome to post if you have any other concerns about import/export in QBO. I'll be around to help. Have a nice day!

Hi,

this thread has had been up for a year now and so my question is this function being in development or are you stringing us along? Sorry for being blunt but it’s quite frustrating to need to manually upload so many bundles. The only new features I’ve seen recently is the change of look of the buttons.

I appreciate you getting back to us, @JJL1990.

I understand how much time you could save if the option to import a bundled items will be added in QuickBooks. Our product engineers are adding new features based on the number of feedbacks they received.

In the meantime, you can follow the suggested workaround shared by my colleague JanyRoseB.

Also, I want to let you know that your voice matters and I'll make a follow-up on your feedback so this feature could be implemented in the future update.

For now, you can visit our blog site so you'll be able to get the latest news about QuickBooks and what our Product Care Team is working on.

Please feel free to post any other questions you have below. The Community and I are always here to help you out.

I don't understand QBO's approach to product design - it almost seems like you'd have to specifically program it to exclude bundles.  Why is this taking 2 years to fix?  Perhaps the import function is nuanced, but why can't you export bundles?

Anybody found a better alternative to QBO?  Used to use desktop but need to share across the cloud.  As hard as the company pushes people toward the online version, you'd think they'd at least catch up to their QB Desktop 2016 product by now.  They're a decade behind on features.

Has any effort been made to fix this?  Why hasn't QB online caught up with your desktop version from 10 years ago, if the company is trying to push everybody online?

How hard can it be to permit exporting bundles just like you export everything else?  Seems like you'd almost have to do more work to not allow it than to allow it.

Anybody else found a better alternative to QBO?

Hi frustrateduser19,

I can see that exporting a bundle is important to you.

We will release an update on the QuickBooks Blog page if this option will be available in the future. In the meantime, you can try finding an ap app that can import your bundles.

If you have other questions, you can always go back to this thread.

Still waiting to be able to import bundles. We have over 4.000 bundles and it would take a very long time to manually create every single one. It seems there is no progress on this in over 2 years. So disappointing Quickbooks.

Honestly speaking, I don't know what updates Quickbook has done over the years. The only thing I see getting better is the cosmetic looks which i don't care about. The reports still suck and I can't export a report over 2mb. The bundles which was introduced in 2017 has not gotten better and I still can't import bulk. The inventory system has actually gotten worst and started slowing down. When I try to create bundle, it actually takes 30 secs for intellisense to find the simple product i typed in and this is with each individual bundle.  It is honestly starting to get ridiculous. I have called many times to get them off there arses and improve their software and they keep telling me they are but where are the actually changes!!! Honestly very close to switching to Xero. Oh also forgot to say why does Australia have only QB Online but US has other software like POS and enterprise. When will Australia get this?

I spent 13 hours over 4 days with the QBO Priority Circle trying to understand why my Advanced account wouldn't copy over to a new Advanced account that I purchased for this specific reason. They tried everything including elevating it to a full investigation because the copy would not complete. No response from the investigation team, no surprise there, for several weeks. When I followed up, the conclusion was that the Bundles were causing the error with the Backup/copy. This means in the event of a fatal error with my account, it cannot be restored properly. This is beyond frustrating and seems to follow everyone's concern above. I wish I read these messages before spending so much time on this initiative.

THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WHEN THE ONLY FEATURE THAT WON'T COPY OVER IS BUNDLES! Why release a feature that is half baked?!?! I'm afraid the same thing happened with Tags. Don't get me started with Reports.

It is July 23rd, 2021 and still no bundle import option.  This is crazy to me and completely frustrating. We have over 8,000 bundles that need to be created in QuickBooks Online.  Why do we pay for advanced version if you can't even do this? Creating 8,000+bundles manually will take weeks.  Has anyone found a solution for this?

Hey newcomer, @ProCraft

Thanks for joining in on this thread. I hope your day is going well so far. Allow me to give you some information on importing bundles.

After reviewing your post and digging deeper on my side to give you the most accurate answer, I've discovered this features isn't offered in any QuickBooks Online product. However, you can use a third party app to help you import this data.

Also, check out our blog post to get more details about bundles.

Feel free to get back here should you have additional concerns. We're always delighted to help.

Thanks for getting involved with this thread, graham-hogg.

I can certainly understand how an ability to export and import bundles could be useful and have submitted a suggestion about it as of today.

You can also submit your own feature requests while signed in.

Here's how:

  1. Use the Gear (⚙️) icon, then go to Feedback.
  2. Enter your suggestion(s) in the Have feedback? window.
  3. If necessary, attach a file with your Camera (📸) icon.
  4. Select Next.

Your feedback's definitely valuable to Intuit. It will be reviewed by our Product Development team and considered in future updates. You can stay up-to-date with the latest news about your product by reviewing Intuit's Product Updates webpage.

You also have the option of checking our QuickBooks App Store for apps which may be able to help you accomplish what you're looking to do.

I'll be here to help if there's any questions. Have a wonderful Thursday!

Hi

It's 2023 and you still cannot improt Bundles.

Quickbooks is the biggest waste of space I have ever encountered./ You cannot even get a report of profit by product.

This product Quickbooks has been around since I was in my 30's and I am now in my 60's and still waiting for the basic stuff any accounting program should provide.

The joke is not funny - I am going to find a different bunch of jokers to use - probably Xero - since at least it will be something different to find doesn;t work as QB is just boring now.

Pathetic beyond belief.
