Welcome to the QuickBooks family, @mitchmi1.

Yes, you can import your old transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

Before importing data into your account, let’s check if the format of your file is one of the accepted formats when importing transactions:

Make sure the file is on a CSV (comma-separated values) format.

  • Check if the file has blank lines if it does delete them.
  • Please make sure to select the column header labels (from the dropdowns) that match the column header labels in your CSV file.
  • Your CSV file should contain the following information: Date, Description and Amount.

Once the format is verified, you can now import transactions using the steps below:

  1. Select the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Choose Imports.
  3. Under ACTION column, pick Import older transactions on the right for the account you want the transactions to belong to.
  4. Hit Browse to locate your file for upload.
  5. Pick Continue.
  6. Click Done.
