Importing Credit Card Transactions to QB Pro Desktop

For our company we have a Chart of Account setup as Credit Card. Our bank is TD Bank who does not support QBO file format and their website tdcardservices.com is NOT part of the list for Bank Feed.

We only have two options:

1. Manually enter each transaction. For 500+ transactions this is going to take eternity.

2. Upload CSV files we have from the bank.

Unfortunately we are unable to find an option in QB Pro Desktop 2019 version that can get these 500+ transactions.

We tried to do it through IIF by doing a sample file, which resulted in "; [ERROR] It's a list or transaction that is not supported by the IIF import process.". Even though we followed the kit sample file from your website.

Please suggest the best and easiest way to upload these transactions. This is a make or break for pursuing Quickbooks. TD Bank fully supports Quicken and we might have to take that route...

Importing Credit Card Transactions to QB Pro Desktop

Hi AharInc,

I understand it has been a long day for you. I've confirmed that QuickBooks Desktop only supports .QBO files whenimporting bank transactions. That's the reason you're getting errors.

We have a way for you that might lessen the work of entering each transaction. You can use the batch entry functionality of the program. It let's you create transactions by batch.

To learn more about this, please click on this article: Enter Transactions By Batch In QuickBooks Desktop.

You can post more questions here, and we'll be glad to help.

RE: "I've confirmed that QuickBooks Desktop only supports .QBO files when importing bank transactions. That's the reason you're getting errors."

This is not correct.  There are several ways to import transactions into QB, and one is an IIF file.   The message is happening because the IIF file is not configured correctly, not because you can't use an IIF file for import credit card transactions.

If you have your transaction in Excel you can use the BRC IIF Transaction Creator Pro  to create an IIF file with them and import them directly into your register.

Looks like QB Desktop Pro 2019 does not have "Accountant" menu to do the Batch transaction. Any other suggestions?

Importing Credit Card Transactions to QB Pro Desktop

Hello, AharInc.

You'll want to search for a converter. There are converters available on the web to convert CSV file to QBO.

You can also visit our Marketplace  for a third-party application that can import the credit card transactions.
