To start, let's create a credit card account to easily track and import your transactions whenever needed.
Here's how:
- Go to the Gear icon and select Charts of Accounts.
- Click New and enter the Account Name.
- Choose the Account type, then tick the ▼ dropdown arrow under the Detail type.
- If it is a sub-account, check the Make this a subaccount box and pick a Parent Account.
- Add a description to add more information. (This is Optional.)
- Then, hit Save.
Once done, we can now proceed with importing the transactions manually.
Here's how:
- Click the Gear icon.
- Under Tools, select Import Data.
- In the select record type, choose the file you want to upload (Export your bank statement in a .CSV, .QFX, .QBO, .OFX, or .TXT format.).
- Hit Import.
- From there, drag or select the file of the transactions you wish to upload.
- Tick Continue
- In the select account bar, select the account we created.
- Supply the necessary information needed on the mapping page.
- Lastly, select all the transactions to be imported, then click Continue.
