Buy nowHi there,
Some transactions are missing on the bank transactions to categorize them for reconciliation, however, these missing transactions are showing in the bank register. Can someone help me to solve this?
Thank you in advance.
Danielle
Welcome to the Community, Danielle Rosa. I appreciate your detailed information.
If transactions are missing from the For review tab on your Bank transactions screen, I'd recommend checking the Categorized tab. This is where transactions you've already categorized will appear. Specifically, you'll want to review your Added or Matched column. This will tell you which account each transaction record was categorized into.
In the event you find what you're looking for, but it's in an incorrect account, you can unmatch and move it to its appropriate account using your Undo option in the Action column. This will disconnect your two transactions. The downloaded record will go back to your For review screen where it can be matched.
If you don't recall categorizing these transactions yourself, you may want to check if there's any active bank rules causing transactions to be auto-categorized.
Since you're working with transactions and reconciling, I'd like to mention an awesome tool on our website called QuickBooks Live Expert Assisted. This service gives you access to a dedicated bookkeeper who can help you manage your books.
I've also included a detailed resource about reconciliation which may come in handy moving forward: Reconcile an account
If there's any additional questions, I'm just a post away. Have a wonderful Wednesday!
Hi, If transactions appear in the bank register but are missing in the categorization screen, try updating your bank feed and ensure the transactions haven't already been manually added or excluded. Running a "Rebuild Data" can also help fix any discrepancies.
my transactions are missing from April through August - My bank does not have an option to download a date range. Will I have to put all these in manually?
You still have a couple of options to import banking transactions into QuickBooks Online instead of recording them manually, KVP1. Allow me to share them with you.
First, you can edit the CSV file to remove the rest of the transactions after downloading it from your bank's website. Here's a quick guide from Microsoft's support site for more details: Clear cells of contents or formats.
To make sure the formatting is correct, you can refer to this Community article for additional details: Format CSV files in Excel to get bank transactions into QuickBooks.
Next, you'll have the option to choose specific items in the process of importing banking transactions. Here's how to do it:
Additionally, the Exclude function provides a convenient way to remove specific transactions from the For review tab after downloading and importing them.
Here's an article as a guide on this process: Exclude a bank transaction you downloaded into QuickBooks Online.
