QuickBooks Online (QBO) will download bank transactions for 90 days by default, blynnharv89.
You'll want to get transactions from your bank and manually upload them in QuickBooks. To do this, you can follow the steps below:
- Sign in to your bank or credit card's website.
- Follow your bank's instructions for how to download CSV files of your transactions to your computer. Every financial institution has different steps. Here are steps for Bank of America, Chase, and Wells Fargo.
- Check the date range for the download. It should be at least one day before the date of your oldest transaction.
- Download your transactions. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it, like your computer's desktop.
After you've downloaded transactions from your bank, review the file. Make sure it's in the correct format before you upload it. Then, upload the transactions manually. Here's how:
- In QuickBooks Online, go to the Banking menu or Transactions menu. Then select the Banking tab.
- Select the blue tile for the account you want to upload the transactions into.
- Select the Link account ▼ dropdown and then Upload from file.
- Select Browse and then select the file you downloaded from your bank. Then select Next.
- In the QuickBooks account ▼ dropdown, select the account you want to upload the transactions into. Then select Next.
- Follow the onscreen steps to match the columns on the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks. Then select Next.
- When you're ready, select Let's go.
In addition, QBO may only download transactions 2-3 times a week instead of every night. You can always update the connection to get the latest transactions between automatic downloads.
Once done with the upload, you are now ready to categorize and match your bank transactions.
