My bank of America account is not downloading new transactions. It is saying all caught up but didn't download transactions for today or yesterday

Jamaica,  I have been downloading and uploading with CSV files, (it's all I can do).  Keep in mind that we have 23 accounts.  All of our men are on individual credit cards plus I have the operating account, payroll & savings. This is a full time job to manually download and up load.  I am pretty proud of myself for not completely losing it.  I wake up every morning with a positive attitude that today will be the day.  It will be nice when that day comes that my links are all working again.  Thank you

Thank you.  I followed your instructions but the transactions from the previous day did not upload.  ( Not sure what the incognito screen was supposed to do but transactions were still not uploaded)The ones from 2 days ago did.  The current balance updated (which is different than the QB balance of course since the transactions didnt update). Is this the way the system works? I would think I should be able to get the previous days transactions. They are all posted and cleared through my bank account.

I got your back to ensure you can import your bank transactions seamlessly in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

These are the few things to check before trying again. First off, ensure that you have the correct mapping of columns. This will make sure that QBO will be able to read the data. Here's how:

  1. Open your CSV file.
  2. Next, remove columns you do not need to prevent any confusion. QBO require to have columns for Date, Description, and Amount.
  3. Then, change the names of the columns in your CSV to match the titles in QBO.

 

Once done, let's also make sure that your file has the format needed by QBO. Below are the things to consider:

 

Another instance of why you can't import a CSV file into QBO is that the file only has Money Out transactions. To get around this, please follow the instructions in this link: Common errors for importing bank transactions using CSV. From there, you'll also find tips to avoid issues when importing.

Once the transactions are in, you'll now have to categorize and match them to ensure they are allocated to the correct account on your QBO.

Thank you but this has nothing to do with my problem. I have no problem manually downloading and uploading but I should not have to do that.  I have 23 accounts and I chose QBO as software so I can be linked directly to my bank.  Links that do not work defeats the entire decision making process of software.  The ONLY reason I chose this is for the links.  Thank you for trying to help me anyway though.  It's very nice that you care.  Can you see if you can get someone to help get the links re-established?  There is a case number above.  It would be nice to get some sort of update on how the case is going.  EDIT:  I see that you were addressing Pristine.  My apologies but still...Can you check on things?

You are joking, right?  Do you know how many  hours I have spent contacting your support team?  I was told that there is an investigation specifically to this problem and that I will be contacted when the engineers can get to me.  As I stands today, I will be working nights and weekends to perform basic duties if I want to have a Christmas due to all the time I have spent on this.  The case number is 80164 can you support me by looking into that case because I have tons and tons of work to manually perform.

It's not just Bank of America. I use QBO and my bank is Idaho First Bank. I haven't been able to download transactions since 11/14. I update and get the message that it's all caught up but the transactions do not download. I have a case # open and have called the QBO support team four times since this issue began. Nothing has been resolved. Supposedly, my case is in level 3 support, but there has been no response regarding the case. This is totally unacceptable!

I came in to this auto email this morning, it came in on Friday at 6:00 pm:

Same happening with me, since around 11-28-2022. My bank account will load, but not the Chase Visa or the American Express. I do not want to manually download and enter the payments made for bills, or the charges made on the employee cards. I have done 3 chats on the QB Online help desk. Told that engineers are aware of the problem.

It's nice to know that it's other entities and not just Bank of America.  I was thinking about switching banks to solve the problem but apparently it's QB and not the banks.  That was the hardest part in the beginning, (not knowing who to go to).

The link to my bank account stopped working again.  It says that I am all caught up and it brought nothing over I disconnected and reconnected and now my bank balance is zero and no new transactions came over.  All the other accounts, credit card, payroll and savings seem to be working but not the checking.  I was down with no accounts working from 11-7 to 12-7.  Can you find out what you did to fix it and go in and do it again, please.  It's just the checking and I need everything from 12-14-22 and then linked back up and working again.  I hope and pray that I am not down for another month.

Let me provide some information about Bank of America's bank transactions, KS1966.

 

For now, there's an ongoing issue about missing transactions or not being able to download some transactions with Bank of America. Our engineers are working to get this resolved as quickly as possible.

 

In the meantime, you can do a manual update to refresh the connection. This updates all your connected bank and credit card accounts. 

 

  1. Go to Bookkeeping, select Transactions, then Bank transactions.
  2. Click Update.

 

I would also recommend reaching out to our support team so they can add you as one of the affected users. Once there's an update, you'll be notified through your email.

I got my 2023 update and they told me that everything would work my banking transactions were supposed to be downloaded and I’ve got three weeks worth. It will not download I’m going in circles in QuickBooks. It’s not helping me at all.

This shouldn't have happened especially you already updated your QuickBooks Desktop 2023 edition. I'm here to help you download your banking transactions.

 

Can you share the name of your financial institution? We can refresh your connection to get those transactions if it's Bank of America.

 

To get started, let's switched from Express to Advanced mode or vice versa.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Edit menu.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Click Checking, then Company Preference tab.
  4. Toggle between Express Mode and Advanced Mode.
  5. Hit OK.

 

After that, you can disconnect all related accounts to make sure there are no issues. Then, set up your bank account again.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to Banking and select Bank Feeds, then select Set Up Bank Feed for an Account.
  2. Enter the account name and select Next.
    Note: Use the updated account name shown in the Account reconnection required list and return here to complete Step 4.
  3. You’ll see the My Company sign in page. Sign in using your Intuit Account user ID.
  4. Enter your online banking account info, then click Connect. QuickBooks will connect to the bank’s server.
    Note: Your bank may prompt you for a one-time password (OTP).
  5. Select the account(s) you want to connect to QuickBooks, then hit Connect.
  6. Select Close.

 

Once everything is ready, you may use Express Web Connect to download transactions. By doing this, the most recent transactions will automatically download the next time you access bank feeds.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to Banking and select Bank Feeds, then select Bank Feeds Center.
  2. Select the account you need to download.
  3. Click Download Transactions.
  4. Once completed, select Transaction List to process the transactions.

Same here, my bank is AFFCU and the checking account won't load new transactions since December 9. Super frustrating, I have already called my bank and they confirmed that everything is working well on their end. I kinda suspect that QB had a data breach with the checking accounts which is why those aren't working right now. I am using QB online btw

  2. Tick on the blue tile for the account you want to upload the transactions into.
  3. Choose the Link account ▼ dropdown and then select Upload from file.
  4. Select on Browse and then click on the file you downloaded from your bank. Then hit Next.
  5. From the QuickBooks account ▼ dropdown, choose the account you want to upload the transactions into. Then click Next.
  6. Go through the onscreen steps to match the columns on the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks. Then click Next.

It's May 2024 and QB Desktop Pro Plus 2022 STILL WILL NOT download transactions from Bank of America. The account balance updates fine, but no transactions will download. I have tried all of the "support fixes" and nothing works. Manually entering and reconciling data is very frustrating.
