Use the trial version of csv2qbo converter tool as a workaround.

I've come to help you, reighvync113.

I'll go over to get around the error message you encountered when importing the CSV file into QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Before anything else, I'd like to ask what specific error you encountered. Additional details can help us get on the same page.

Please know that the maximum file size that you can upload to QuickBooks is 350 KB. If the file size is too large, try downloading transactions in smaller batches by shortening the date range or splitting them into multiple files so you can upload them separately in QBSE.

Also, QBSE currently supports CSV files in either a 3-column or 4-column format. Before uploading your transactions to QuickBooks, please ensure you're using the correct CSV format. Here are the two types of formats you can follow:

  • The first is where columns include the Date, Transaction name/description, and Amount. The date format should be DD/MM/YYYY, and the amount column should show the figures with a plus or minus symbol so the program can see if it's income or an expense.
  • The second is similar to the first. The CSV can have four columns: Date, Transaction name/description, Credit, and Debit. Again, the date format should be DD/MM/YYYY.

Here's an article you can refer to for more information about CSV format: Format CSV files in Excel to get bank transactions into QuickBooks. This is QuickBooks Online, but it works the same way for QBSE.

Then, you can follow the steps below to import your data in QBSE. Here's how:

  1. Click the Profile ⚙ icon and choose Imports.
  2. Select Import transactions.
  3. Follow the onscreen steps to upload the CSV file.
  4. Select Import.

Use this guide to organize your self-employed business in the future: Categorize transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

You can always rely on the QuickBooks Community for additional assistance in managing your transactions. I'll keep the thread open so you can comment back.
