You can manually update your bank account to download the missing transactions, Hunny. Let me outline some details below and guide you through the steps.

 

When you first connect your credit card account to QuickBooks Online (QBO), it downloads past transactions up to a certain date. After this, QBO will automatically download the most recent transactions.

 

Additionally, please note that QBO doesn't download pending transactions. It only downloads transactions that have been fully processed and are officially posted on the bank's website.

 

Here’s how to check different areas of your accounts to find missing transactions:

 

Step 1: Get the latest transactions by manually updating your credit card account to refresh the connection between your bank and QuickBooks.

 

  1. Navigate to the Bank Transactions page.
  2. Select your credit card account and click Update.
  3. If prompted, enter your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) credentials and select Continue update.

Step 2: Check your Banking page as the transaction might be misplaced or allocated to an incorrect account:

 

  1. Navigate to the Bank Transactions page.
  2. Select the tile of your credit card account where you downloaded the transaction.

 

These are three areas to check:

 

  • First, navigate to the For Review tab in QuickBooks. This tab is where recently downloaded transactions are stored. If you locate the missing transaction, assign it to an appropriate account category. Keep in mind that transactions will not appear in your books until they have been categorized.
  • Next, check the Categorized tab. This tells you what happens to transactions you've already categorized. Specifically, review the Added or Matched column. This tells you which account you categorized the transaction into. If you find your missing transaction, but it's in the wrong account, follow these steps to unmatch and move it.
  • Finally, check the Excluded tab. If you mark a transaction as personal or a duplicate, it goes here. QuickBooks won't add excluded transactions to your accounts. If you want to include it, select Undo from the action column. Then go back to the For review tab and categorize it into the correct account.

I manually updated my account but I wish it would automatically download transactions like it did last month. I don’t know what changed.
