It’s nice to see you in the Community, info1287.
When you’re done with the paperwork, export your QBO data to Excel. Then, import the information to your new QuickBooks Online account from TechSoup. I’m here to guide you through the step by step process.
To begin, sign in to your existing QBO account to move the data. Here’s how:
- Go to the Gear icon at the top to choose Export Data under Tools.
- Tap the Reports tab and click the drop-down to set the correct date range for your reports.
- Press the Export to Excel button to continue the process.
- Hit OK.
Perform the same steps to transfer the lists and non-posting transactions such as estimates, purchase orders, customer statements, and attachments. Check out this guide for additional information: Export reports, lists, and more.
After completing the procedure, sign up for your new QuickBooks Online account from TechSoup. Once done, import the following lists: Chart of Accounts, Customer, Vendor, and Products and Services.
- Tap the Gear icon at the top and select Import Data under Tools.
- From the list, choose what information you want to bring into QBO.
- Then, browse the file you want to upload and click Next to continue.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
Here’s an article that covers all the instructions on how to export the lists to Excel and then import them into QuickBooks Online: Move your lists to QuickBooks Online.
Also, cancel the old QBO account so you’ll not be billed twice. For future reference, I’m adding a link that contains tools and articles to help your business thrive: QuickBooks Resource Center.
