QB recording my sales/income from credit cards as a transfer

All of the sudden QB is trying to record my bank transactions from credit card sales and transfers. I have set up rules and it has worked for a few years. Now all of the sudden this change? Any ideas? Thanks.

  4. Update any necessary information.

 

If you notice any alterations to your rules, you can review your audit log to check who made the changes.

 

If no changes were made, I'd suggest running some troubleshooting steps to address the issue. At times, excessive cached resources in your browser can lead to unusual behavior. To isolate the problem, access your account using a private browsing window. This doesn't retain your search history, visited pages, login credentials, or cookies. Here's how to activate this mode using shortcut keys:
 

  • Ctrl + Shift + P (Internet Explorer or Firefox)
  • Command + Shift + N (Safari)
  • Ctrl+ Shift + N (Google Chrome)

 

If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear your cache. If the issue persists, consider using other supported browsers. It could be that the one you're currently working on has a temporary issue with QuickBooks.

Hi RaymondO, 

 

Thanks for the quick response. I just checked my rules, and it looks like two rules appeared that QB Suggested for this "credit card transfer". I deleted both suggestions and just kept the original rule that categorizes it as a deposit. Is there anyway to stop suggestions like this? Thanks.

QuickBooks doesn't automatically generate bank rules that could potentially create transaction errors. Instead, it allows you to create rules according to your preferences. It's a good thing that you've identified and deleted the two rules. Hi JessT, my newest bank downloads did not apply the rule automatically like it was before. It now asked for me to categorize it?  I checked my rules again, and the one I've always had is un-changed. I don't know what changed that all of the sudden income from credit cards is being treated as a transfer. Any other ideas? Thanks.

With that, we recommend contacting the Customer Care Team to have your account information added to the list of affected users. This way, you'll receive updates regarding the status of the investigation and ensure you'll get back to business.

  1. In your QBO account, click the Help icon and select Contact Us.
  2. Enter your concern and click Let's Talk.
  3. Select Start a chat or Get a callback with a support expert.

 

In the meantime, you can manually categorize and match your downloaded transactions as a workaround to keep you going in handling bank entries in your account.
