Bank Feeds - Customization

Is there a way to customize how transactions are entered when using bank feeds?  For example, adding a column for Class, using items vs. accounts, adding a column for memo and possibly customer?  I love this feature for importing credit cards but many times have to edit once they have been imported.

Bank Feeds - Customization

Hi @kknigge4,

Currently, we're unable to add these columns in QuickBooks (class, items, accounts, and memo). You'll want to enter them manually to your register.

In the meantime, I'll be sending a product request to our engineer about this. They can consider this option added in the future update. You can also check this article to see the CSV template formats that are compatible with QuickBooks. The article that I've attached is for QBO. However, it also applies to QBDT.

Here are some of the handy articles that you can use for additional reference.

Stay in touch if you have other concerns. I'd be glad to assist you further. Have a lovely day.

Bank Feeds - Customization

I see that class and memo column options have been added but if you have billable expenses, there is no place to mark them as billable.  I have to go back and open every single expense in my register to do that... NOT GOOD.

PLEASE add this feature.  I am sure I am not the only client who does invoices and recovers billable expenses.

The double work is very tedious and time consuming.

Bank Feeds - Customization

I recognize your needs for your business, @jcs2V.

Being able to designate billable expenses without having to go back and open each and every expense in the register would be of great convenience for businesses like yours. I would love to have this capability in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), just like you.

With this, I would advise sharing your suggestions with our Product Developers because we value your comments here in QuickBooks and are committed to ensuring that you have the best possible experience. This will allow them to take this into consideration for the next improvements.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu and select Send Feedback Online.
  2. Click Product Suggestion.
  3. Choose a feedback type and product area on the QuickBooks Feedback window.
  4. Enter your suggestion or feedback, name, and email address (optional).
  5. Select the Send Feedback Online.

In the meantime, you can consider @Fiat Lux - ASIA's suggestion which is to utilize a third-party app. You can look for one in our Appstore.

Moreover, since categorizing bank transactions can get a little bit time-consuming sometimes, I got you this article to help you speed up the process: Create rules to categorize transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.

We'd be pleased to assist you further if you have additional questions with regard to managing your transactions in QBDT. Assistance is just a reply away. Keep safe.
