Bank Feeds

In December, I did a regular export of my transactions from my bank.  It always goes right into the bank feed screen but this time  it said it didn't have an account assoiciated with it.  I accidentally setup another bank acct so the new transactios were going into there.  I've cleared out the "new" bank acct and so when I try running another export, it says the same thing, not an acct with this export.  When I click on use acct in Quickbooks, my bank acct doesn't show up there.  How do I fix this mess?

Bank Feeds

Thanks for getting back to us, @chinnock

I appreciate you performing the steps provided by my colleague, @Anonymous.

When merging the two accounts, one will be deleted and the other one will keep the transactions created. This may be the reason why your original bank account is still not showing when exporting your bank transactions.

To verify which account was deleted, I'd suggest contacting our QuickBooks Desktop Support Team. This way, they'll be able to provide options on how to fix your bank feeds concern.

Here's how to reach out to them:

  1. Go to https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contact.
  2. Select QuickBooks Desktop
  3. Choose your QuickBooks Desktop version.
  4. Click Running Your Business in QuickBooks under What can we help you with?
  5. Choose Online Banking
  6. Scroll down the page, then click Get Phone Number

Stay in touch with me how the call goes, @chinnock. If you have other concerns, please let us know. Just remember, we're always got your back. Have a wonderful day ahead!

Let's get your bank transactions synced, chinnock.

Your online banking is still connected to the new bank account. That's the reason you can't see it being connected from the old account. You'd want to merge the two bank accounts. Then, download the bank transactions again. Here's how:

  1. Click on the Lists menu and choose Chart of Accounts.
  2. Select the account you want to merge and click on Edit Account.
  3. Change the account type, if the account type is different from the one you're merging.
  4. Type the account name of the account into which you are merging this account into the Name field.
  5. Click on Save & Close and select Yes to confirm the merge.

Let us know if you have any questions. We'll be right here to help.

Bank Feeds

I need to see the vendor name and check number submitted from QuickBooks desktop direct deposit in my bank account.  All I see in the bank and on statements from vendor direct deposits are:

INTUIT PAYROLL S QUICKBOOKS ******* CCD ID: **********

I couldn't find another topic with this AND I couldn't figure out how to start a new topic.  Not very user friendly for new questions. This makes for a very time-consuming bank feed download.  There is a name and check number on the check that is produced in QuickBooks.  I should be able to see that name and check number in the bank transactions.  I have to guess which vendor this is when there are multiple checks with the same or different amounts.  When I use bank feeds to import transactions I always have to ignore these transactions because it duplicates the checks in QuickBooks.  I would like to see them as a match.  Please tell me what setting I need to fix.  Let me know if you need any additional information.  Thank you for the solution!!!

Welcome and thanks for joining the Community, @Suezew,

I know how time consuming it is to find similar topics to match your concern, but you can actually start a new post by going to this link: Start a discussion.

Regarding your concern about your bank transactions, the data displayed in the Bank Feeds depends on what your bank sends us. To identify which account holder it goes, contact your financial institution for details.

Once you have the data, compare it with the transactions in QuickBooks. You may access previous Direct Deposit details sent in the program through the Send/Receive Data page. Here's how:

  1. Choose Employees Send Payroll Data.
  2. Under Items Received, a list of previous reports appears, along with other payroll reminders.
  3. Select a report and click View.

You can also check previous payroll transmissions through the Account Maintenance page:

  1. Go to the Employees tab then choose My Payroll Service.
  2. Select Account/Billing Information.
  3. On the Account Maintenance page, go to the Direct Deposit section (lower right) and click View Payroll Activity. When prompted, enter your Payroll PIN.

Once you get all the details, you may now match the entries successfully. I'm adding this article to help you with your Bank Feed tasks: Get started with Bank Feeds for QuickBooks Desktop.

Let me know if there's anything else you would like to get help with. I'm always free to assist you. Have a nice day!
