Buy nowHello - I currently accept some payments through Paypal and then also have a Paypal business credit card. How do I connect both the paypal account and the card? Right now it only let's me connect the account and not the card. Any thoughts or suggestions would be helpful!
Good to see you here in the Community forum, @RobynJ. Let me share the steps for connecting your PayPal account and PayPal business credit card in QuickBooks.
You'll want to use the Connect to PayPal app, which supports connecting multiple PayPal accounts to QuickBooks Online. It also allows you to handle your PayPal transactions the same way as other bank transactions.
To set up the Connect to PayPal in QBO, here's how:
You can import up to 18 months of historical transactions and you'll see the PayPal connection listed on your QuickBooks Bank transactions page.
For transactions connected to a credit card account, it will show up on both your connected PayPal account and your connected credit card account. The best way to handle this is to:
Add the transaction from the PayPal side first to get more detailed information, such as vendor name and address, into QuickBooks. For more details about the process above, see this article: Use the Connect to PayPal app with QuickBooks Online.
Additionally, let me share these links that will guide you in switching from Sync to Connect PayPal and how to match your bank transactions in QuickBooks:
If you have any further questions about connecting PayPal accounts to QuickBooks or anything else, please feel free to reply in the comment section below. I'm here to help. Take care.
Hello Thank you for the response. I did in fact try Paypal connect and it did connect my Paypal account however the credit card which is issued by Paypal does not show up in Paypal connect. When I try to connect it as the credit card it is it will not connect. Therefore a different solution is needed to resolve this problem.
Any insight would be helpful.
I appreciate you getting back to us, @RobynJ.
As per checking, we have an investigation relating to missing credit card accounts when linking your PayPal to QuickBooks Online (QBO). Rest assured that our engineers are working diligently to implement a fix as soon as possible so you can get back to working order.
As a workaround, you can upload your bank transactions via a CSV file to enter them into QBO.
While the investigation is ongoing, I recommend reaching out to our customer support team so you'll be added to the list of impacted users. This way, you'll receive email updates regarding the investigation status. To do that:
After linking, categorize your bank transactions so they go into the appropriate accounts. Doing so helps identify tax deductions and informs you where your business earns and spends money.
We appreciate your patience regarding this matter. Let me know whenever you have additional questions about connecting your PayPal account in QBO, I'll get back right away to address your queries. Stay safe, and have a great day ahead.
