Buy nowOur bank's website updated at the beginning of the year, so their URL changed. I unlinked the old website, since it was obsolete anyway, and tried to reconnect using the new URL, but no luck. The login credentials are all the same, but there is no way to update the bank's linked landing page. I have requested it at least once a week since it changed 5 or 6 months ago. How can I urge Quickbooks support to update my bank's URL?
I'm here to keep the process of linking bank accounts in QuickBooks Online easy and simple, lpowell1178.
I appreciate the details you've provided and the troubleshooting steps you performed to resolve this issue. May I know what's your financial institution? This way I can check our records if there's a bank connection issue. You may have an issue linking or connecting to your bank in QuickBooks Online (QBO) based on the following criteria:
Your bank's URL will be automatically updated in QuickBooks as long as it is supported for Online banking connection. To ensure we're linking the correct account, as an initial step, let's log in to the bank's website. Once signed in, copy the bank URL and use it for searching and linking the correct account in QuickBooks. Here's how:
Once connected, QuickBooks will automatically download your most recent transactions. I recommend editing, assigning, and categorizing your transactions. Also, match them to the existing entries in the software. Just go to the For Review tab from the Banking menu. Doing so will help you ensure the accuracy of your financial records.
Alternatively, if you're still unable to link your financial institution, as a workaround, you can add your bank to the chart of accounts and bring in the transactions using a WebConnect file.
Let me know the result of this troubleshooting in the comment below. I need to make sure this is resolved so you can start running your business processing. Have a good day!
Thank you for all of the information. We were previously connected with the same bank account. However, earlier this year, the bank updated their website. Now, when you go to the original URL (the one that QBO goes to) the landing page is different than before. Whereas before, it would open the login page, now it opens another page where you have to manually click "Login" and then there is a popup for you to enter credentials. I spoke with our bank and they found a workaround and gave me a link that bypasses the login popup, and looks exactly like the original that QBO was linked to. I have submitted the new URL at least 20 times in the last 6 months and nothing has changed. It is still not linked. I have tried it with the name listed exactly how it is in the QBO system (which is The First National Bank of Hartford (Hartford, AL)), as well as listing it a little different (using First National Bank of Hartford). The link in your system is obsolete now. The correct URL that opens to the login screen is https://web13.secureinternetbank.com/PBI_PBI1151/Login/[removed]/1. I believe the old one (the QBO one) was web6.
One other thing, the reason they updated the website was to add better security. So, now the first time logging in requires a security question answer. I'm now sure how that would work, but I am sure a tiny little bank in rural South Alabama is the only one with this extra security feature.
Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for getting back to the thread, @lpowell1178.
I understand your concern regarding the URL and the challenges you've encountered while attempting to link your bank account with QuickBooks Online (QBO). It appears that the recent updates carried out by your bank on their website have brought about alterations in the login process and the structure of URLs.
Please know that the process of connecting bank accounts to QuickBooks relies on the bank's website and the information it provides to our system. When you initiate the connection, the program uses the URL provided by the bank to navigate to the appropriate login page and gather the necessary financial data.
Let me take note of your experience and share it with the appropriate QuickBooks Team to address the connection concern.

I can not verify my bank account. I have tried multiple times to verify the small deposit amounts but QuickBooks says please try again later. It's been 3 weeks now and it still will not let me confirm the deposits. Help

I am having the same issue. My banks website updated and they have a new URL. I can't find a way to update the URL in Quickbooks online. Very frustrating for QBO to continue linking the old URL. HELP? Greg Novotny, [email address removed]
Let me provide you details about connecting your bank to QuickBooks Online (QBO), @gnovotny.
Since your bank has updated its URL, you can try copying and pasting the new URL. If it doesn't connect and you can't see your bank, I recommend contacting your bank and asking for the new URL that's supported by QuickBooks.
In the meantime, you can manually enter and upload the transactions.
Here's how:
1. Go to Transactions and select Bank Transactions.
2. Click on the blue tile for the account to which you want to upload the transactions.
3. Open the Link account dropdown and choose Upload from file.
4. Drag and drop the files or select them, then choose the file you downloaded from your bank and press Continue.
5. In the QuickBooks account dropdown, select the account where you want to upload the transactions and click Continue.
6. Follow the onscreen instructions to match the columns in the file with the corresponding fields in QuickBooks, then hit Continue.
7. Choose the transactions you want to import and click Continue.
8. Select Yes, and then Done.
For details on how to perform these actions, review this guide: Manually upload transactions.
Afterward, you can categorize and reconcile the transactions.
