I started my QuickBooks in August and have reconciled check register since I started. I have decided to go back and enter all transactions per bank statement starting in January how should I do this and reconcile?
Welcome to the Community, @kbjoy.
Thank you for joining us here today. I can help you add your transactions so you can reconcile them in QuickBooks Online.
QuickBooks downloads the past 90 days old of transactions. Since those transactions are from January, you can no longer download them directly from your bank to QuickBooks.
You will need to upload them through a WebConnect file, here's how:
After uploading them, all those transactions will automatically be on your For Review tab. Next thing we need to do is add them to your register:
Once done, you're all set to reconcile your account.
That should be enough information to answer your question.
Don't hesitate to add a comment if you have additional questions about banking. Have a great rest of your day.
If you have been reconciling, you cannot add Historic activity, now; that means your reconciliations were wrong, or you are attempting to make detail entries for a value you already told the system you have, generically, such as the initial Deposit that is based on the banking in August.
One thing or the other is your reality; not both.

After clicking "Quote" you have to immediately enter your comment, before editing the quote. Once you have edited the quote there is no longer the ability to add text without it becoming part of the quote. Another example of untested and sloppy programming
Hi there, everyone.
I appreciate the call out about this post. I'll update my answer to match the customer's product.
@kbjoy, please refer to these steps in uploading and reconciling your transactions.
Here's how you can upload your older transactions in QuickBooks Desktop:
After importing your transactions, go to your Bank Feeds section to add those transactions on your Register. Lastly, you're all set to reconcile:
That's it. Keep me posted if there's anything else you need. Have a great rest of your day.
