You can use MT Online or one of the converter tools (e.g csv2qbo @ $60 one time license) as a workaround.

How do I import older bank transactions? I would like the year of 2023 so I can figure out my expenses for the year.

Thank you for reaching out about importing older bank transactions into QuickBooks Online, @nycolelotz. I'm here to assist you in efficiently analyzing your expenses for the year 2023.

To import your 2023 bank transactions, you'll first need to download them from your bank and save them as CSV files.

Here's a detailed guide on how to proceed:

  1. Sign in to your bank or credit card's website.
  2. Follow your bank's instructions on how to download CSV files of your transactions to your computer.
  3. Ensure the date range covers at least one day before your oldest transaction date.
  4. Save the downloaded file in an easily accessible location, like your computer's desktop.

Once you have your 2023 bank transactions downloaded, you can proceed with manually uploading them into QBO.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Transactions and select Bank Transactions.
  2. Choose the account where you want to upload the transactions.
  3. Select the Link account▼ dropdown and select Upload from the file.
  4. Select Drag and drop or select files and select the file you downloaded from your bank. Then, select Continue.
  5. In the QuickBooks account▼ dropdown, select the account you want to upload the transactions into. Then, select Continue.
  6. Follow the onscreen steps to match the columns on the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks. Then select Continue.
  7. Select the transactions you like to import. Then select Continue.
  8. Select Yes, then Done.

You can read this article for more details: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

Now that your transactions are in QuickBooks, it's time to match and categorize them. The transactions go into your accounts after you review them.
