Let me help you import your Paypal transactions in QuickBooks Online, @ccraig-stemania.
We can use the Connect to PayPal app to import your transactions in QuickBooks. This way, you can easily edit, categorize, and match transactions in your Banking tab once connected.
Here's how:
Please take note that you can import up to 18 months of historical transactions in QuickBooks.
You can also check the guides provided in this article on how PayPal transactions are handled within QBO: Handling PayPal transactions with QuickBooks.
That should do it. You will now see the PayPal connection listed on your QuickBooks Banking screen. Please let me know if you need further assistance in importing your Paypal transactions in QBO. I'll get back in a moment.
Hi. I already have the link set up with PayPal. The problem is that there are transactions from 2018 that were not imported. They are within the 18 month window. Given that I already have the link established, I think that puts me at Step 8 in your response. I can get to the PayPal Bank under the Banking left pane Nav. I have an option to Update, but that either lets me Upload a file or Order Checks. If I select Upload File, the options are "Get info from your bank" or "Securely connect your bank". My bank is connected, so I think I need to select the left option. Here's where I run into problems. I have downloaded the transactions that I want to import as both .csv and .iif. QBO only accepts .csv apparently. QBO locks up when I attempt upload the transactions. Your help file tells me to do something completely different, and it is out of date. So, I'm hoping you can walk me through step by step on how to correctly import transactions in a manner that is consistent with the Auto Feed. Thanks!
Hi. Just to add to my previous post, I've also tried to follow the directions here . It looks like it was updated 5 days ago.....however the app is not called "Sync with PayPal", I can only find "Connect to PayPal". Also, per step 6 of the QuickBooks Online portion, a new tab should open. That does not happen. It asks me to log in, and the go through the whole process (steps 1-5) again. So I think you have some defects in your app!
Let's import your remaining PayPal transactions, ccraig-stemania.
In the Connect to PayPal setup, you can import your older transactions by using the Upload button. You're already there. You're just seeing the Get your info from your bank option because that's one of the default options when uploading transactions. It's doesn't necessarily mean you'll get the data from your bank. You'll want to use the CSV file from your PayPal instead.
On the other hand, Reymond already mentioned about handling PayPal transactions. You may also want to check about reconciling your PayPal account.
Lastly, if you're wondering about Sync to PayPal, yes, it's available. However, you can't use it while you're in the Connect to PayPal setup.

Having the same issue, can't see "Connect to PayPal" listed as an app.
Hello there, @Happy Planet Giftshop.
Allow me to share additional information regarding connecting to PayPal with QuickBooks Online (QBO).
I have a quick and easy way to resolve this. We can use the Get Connected link in our awesome guide on how to connect to Paypal.
Not only does this contain detailed steps on how to load the app, but it'll also let you go to the next step to complete this process. Just make sure you're logged into your QBO account before you click the link, to guarantee the system will detect the right account to connect to.

Please don't hesitate to keep in touch with me if there's anything else I can do for you, I've always got your back. Take care.
Hi,
I'm in UK I cannot find the app you're talking about in this thread. I can only find quite expensive apps.
We have lots of Paypal transactions per day (around 100) and need a solution for feeding these into QBO that isn't so expensive that we may as well all stay at home in bed and not run a business !!
Thanks
Dennis
...
That's pretty expensive. We need to feed in around 100 Paypal and 100 Stripe transactions per day !
Hello @Den_ST,
You can consider integrating one of our third-party apps that'll let you import all payments from PayPal and Stripe. Let me show you how.
Additionally, you can also find this article helpful for future reference: How to connect your bank account & credit cards?
If there's anything else that I can help you with, please let me know in the comments. Stay safe always!

I'm trying to fix the following with QBO and Paypal:
1) the process for update is extremely slow
2) Many transactions are missing in QBO
3) tried to download the CSV file from paypal, and let QBO import, and it failed
4) Cannot find the "Connect to Paypal" app in Canada
Can someone from the Quickbooks team provide clear step by step instructions to fix the paypal sync.
Thanks
