Hello there, @malu-fused-is-co.
Let me share with your some insights about what to do if an American Express account is not an option to connect to QuickBooks Online.
Some American Express Business card accounts may be grayed out when you connect. This can occur for a variety of reasons:
Open the QuickBooks company to which your American Express account is currently attached if you want to connect it to another company. There, disconnect the account. Then connect it using the instructions in this post.
Disconnect the grayed-out account from the American Express website if you were unable to complete the connection:
In addition, I suggest giving us additional details about what you encountered when connecting the account. You can also include screenshots of error messages if there are any.

My issue is that I have an American Business Checking Account and I can't link it to QBO.
I've requested the bank (as a whole) to be linked. I want to know how long that process is to complete on QBO's end?
I'd prefer not to do things manually as it can result in human error and the reason I chose QBO is because of the seamless integrations.
Please advise with necessary information in relation to the issue/question.
I appreciate the additional details, malu-fused-is-co.
The ability to connect an account or a particular account type is a decision to be made between your bank and Intuit. Some banks will purposely not allow third-party connections to certain account types. For these reasons, we are unable to provide a turnaround time on when it will be rolled out or not.
I understand you don’t like manual uploads, but that’s the only alternative option that QBO offers for now. You can upload daily or weekly, depending on the number of transactions you have.
Let me know if you have more questions about online banking or other topics. Thank you for your patience.
Utilize MT Online for the time being. It is designed to import into any bank or credit card in QuickBooks Online, so there is no specific setting needed.
