How to split a bank transaction (expense) to multiple locations?

Hi.  I'm a bit late to the party here... however this topic is definitely something that's been an issue for me for a while.

Any idea when we will have this feature launched?  It is truly is a game changer for the software value for those of us in real estate development and would validate QBO as a bonafide accounting solution for us in this space.

Thank you!!

How to split a bank transaction (expense) to multiple locations?

Where is the option to add additional memos? When I go in to edit it, you can add additional lines, etc. but I don't see how I can enter a separate memo for each split

How to split a bank transaction (expense) to multiple locations?

Hi, @bweiss372. It's glad you joined the thread.

Please know that the Memo feature in QuickBooks Online is designed and used for the entire transaction. That said, the option to separately add another memo to each line item in a split transaction is unavailable.

As a workaround, you can use the Description field. It allows you to enter notes or information for each line item or split transaction. Refer to the screenshot below for visual reference:

While this option is unavailable, I recommend sending feedback to our product developers. This way, they can further review which parts of the program need enhancements and consider adding them to future updates.

Thank you again for posting. If you have any other questions, please let me know. I'm looking forward to hearing back from you.

How to split a bank transaction (expense) to multiple locations?

This feature request has been pending for almost 3 years. We need the ability to split transactions by location. for example our PGE bill comes in one bill, I need to split the transaction across 2 locations. How is this not a possibility 3 years later is beyond me. this is a P0 issue for many people, quickbooks product managers please listen to your customers here.

YES!  3 years later and a basic function for businesses with multiple locations isn't available.

Any update here? I agree with the other posters that it is shocking you cannot split by Location.

How to split a bank transaction (expense) to multiple locations?

Christine this has been asked for 4 years now. Asking people to submit feedback on this feature request when everyone and their mom has done that for 4 years is silly. Either you internally find out if it’s in the roadmap and set expectations on when it’ll launch / be available. Or tell us once and for all it’s never going to happen. Don’t leave us with false hope like your previous reply does

How to split a bank transaction (expense) to multiple locations?

Just an FYI, I am very likely moving to different accounting software because QBO cannot perform such a simple, vital accounting action such as splitting transactions by locations. Its ridiculous.
