Do you need to duplicate your data? Open a new blank QBO account
https://quickbooks.grsm.io/us-promo
then utilize this app
Yes I need to duplicate my data. Someone else owns one of the quickbooks online accounts and then I recently opened my own. I want my data from the first quickbooks online account to be copied to my own account. I don't know how to do this.
I already opened an account....I just need to copy the data from the other online account. Can you tell me how to do this?
Hello there, @medleygrp.
I can provide insights about transferring data to a new QuickBooks Online.
When transferring data from one QBO company to another, we can only move lists (customers, vendors, and others).
First, you'll need to export your list reports to Excel:
After that, you'll now have to import your lists to QuickBooks Online.
If you want to manually enter the transactions. You can also speak with your accountant about other choices. They understand what is best for you and your business.
Furthermore, if the old QBO account is under the accountant's QBOA account, you can transfer the account billing to the new one.

Did you explore the Copy tool as I mentioned earlier?
Tried this....says I need permission from my accountant and they are MIA for months now.
Are you able to access your existing QBO account as Company Admin?
Thanks for keeping us updated, medleygrp.
Since your accountant started that account for you, you may need to coordinate with them to transfer the primary admin access back to you. This way, you'll get full access of your QuickBooks Online company.
If your accountant is unavailable to transfer the role to you, I'd recommending sending a claim request to our Account Protection Team. Take note that we'll need some documentation to verify that you have rightful ownership for the account.
Additionally, your business type and ownership will determine the document you'll have to submit. To know more about this topic and learn how to fill up the form, you can read this article: Request to be the primary admin or contact.
Once the role has been transferred, you can now move your existing lists to your new QBO company. If you need some reference in completing your other tasks or answers o frequently asked questions, feel free to browse a topic on our Help Article page.

I'm listed as an Admin with the accountant listed as the primary admin. The account was set up to handle my company business, however I'm separating their services effective immediately. I am charged monthly for this service and not getting the service so this is why I established my own online account because Quickbooks told me I would be able to access the data from the original account. Clearly that isn't the case then.
Another option, purchase a 3rd party migration service to duplicate your data.
Hi how do I move the backup from the first company to the second
Hello @JRC5,
I appreciate you taking the time to reach out to us here in the Community space. I'm here to assist you in moving the backup to a different company in QuickBooks Online.
Can you share with us how you created the backup of your company? Are you using the Advanced version? Any information you can add will help us provide a more accurate resolution.
You can copy an existing QuickBooks Advanced company and overwrite a blank one. I recommend you follow the detailed instructions in this link to restore the backup copy to another company: Make a copy of your QuickBooks Online Advanced company.
Please note this feature is only available for QuickBooks Online Advanced subscriptions. Usually, it may take up to an hour or less to restore a backup.
In case you need the steps, here's how:
If the backup you're referring to is exported data from Company A (QBO) or backup from QuickBooks Desktop, you can use these steps to import the file:
Also, there's some data you can't back up using the Advanced version. To learn more, check out the list of data in this article: Back up and restore your QuickBooks Online Advanced company.
Feel free to add more details if you need more help uploading the backup in QuickBooks Online. I'm always available to lend a hand.
Can I move invoices and expenses?
I have upgraded my account QB Online to QB Advanced with SOS. Now I would like to move/copy/export my invoices, expenses and bills (along with customers and other details) to the new account QB Advanced. How do I do that?
You have upgraded from QBO Plus US version to QBO Advanced US version, correct? Why do you still need to migrate those transactions? Did you signup for a new QBO Advanced account?
Thanks for joining the thread, @jmrravi.
Did you just recently upgrade your subscription? If so, we can cancel your newly created QuickBooks Online (QBO) Advanced subscription and then upgrade your Plus version.
That way, you don't have to export and reimport your files from one company to another. Once you upgrade your subscription, it would keep your old data and enhance your accounting features.
If you purchased an annual subscription for QBO, and it’s within 60 days of the purchase date, you’re eligible for a refund under our satisfaction guarantee. Thus, you can still cancel your subscription.
Here's how to cancel an account purchased online:
Once done, you can now upgrade your subscription.
I'm always willing to lend a hand in case you have any other concerns about transferring your data. I'll keep an eye out for your response. Have a good day and take care.
Hello, I'm trying to accomplish the same using the rewind app but I can't seem to figure it out. Could you guide me?
I cant see how to restore a backup from one company to a new company
Can you help?
Did you figure out how to do this? I am trying as well
Rewind only offers backup restore function, no more copy feature.
https://partnerwithus.rewind.com/quickbooks
FYI. Rewind discontinued this service.
You are correct. You may have 3 options to duplicate data between QBO accounts:
1. Purchase a 3rd party service
2. Use a migration tool
3. For US version only, convert your data to QB Desktop and convert it again to a new QBO account.
As far as I know the restore feature only applies to the same QBO account. You cannot restore a backup to a new QBO account. cmiiw
Ah. I understand. For my needs, and possibly that of the OP, I only need to move information from one QBO Company to another QBO Company (within the same QBO Account). As I understand it, the impacts of an accountant setting up the company is tired to Company ID not a users QBO Account. So the QBO Advanced should work per this document: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/help-article/back-data/make-copy-quickbooks-online...
