I am having problems linking my American express to quick books any hints

Thanks for visiting the Community forum, Lowell. I recognize the relevance of the streamlined process of connecting your bank account to QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Beforehand, may I know what specific bank error message you encountered while connecting your bank account to your QBO? I encourage you to share it with us in this thread so we can further check here on our end and provide the necessary details to resolve it.

Nonetheless, there are also many reasons your bank account won't connect. The following scenarios explain why you can't link your bank account:

  • The bank may not be a participating bank.
  • Your bank might not connect to all types of accounts (for example, personal accounts vs. business accounts).
  • The bank is having system maintenance.
  • Some banks have multiple names on our list. You might want to check and select the correct one or try all possible bank URLs.

In the meantime, I suggest following these troubleshooting steps and connecting your bank account from there:

  1. Try using a private or incognito browser.
  2. Restart your browser.
  3. Clear your browser's cache.
  4. Use a supported and up-to-date browser.

You're always welcome to post a reply in this thread if you have any other questions about linking your bank account to QBO. I'll be here ready to assist you. Stay safe!

@lowell-cheflowel

You can use MT Online or one of the converter tools (e.g csv2qbo @ $60 one time license) as a workaround.
