Join nowHi there, johnny.liu.
Welcome to the QuickBooks Community forum. I appreciate you for sharing detailed information about your issues with bank transactions. I'll ensure to share some troubleshooting steps so you can see the latest imported entries and up to date.
There are a few reasons for unexpected banking issues in QuickBooks Online. Please check the list below.
For now, you can click the Update button. This way, you're able to refresh the connection of the bank to see the latest updates.
1. Click Banking at the left panel. Then, the Banking section.
2. Click to highlight the account you're updating. Then, hit the Update button.
If you're still unable to update the account or to view the latest entries, you can manually bring in the missing transactions into your QuickBooks Online using a WebConnect file as a workaround. You can get the detailed steps in this article: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.
Please refer to this article to view steps on how you can reconcile your accounts so they always match your bank and credit card statements to avoid discrepancies: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.
Please get back to me if you continue to get the same results so I can look further into this. I'll stick around to help you out.
Hi Christie, Thanks for you information.
I still cannot connect to the bank account followed with you steps.
1) I cannot confirm if BEA had changed that mechanism.
2) I don't change any login information (I use the same login and pw and I can connect to the HKBEA e banking)
I did tried to manually download the transaction file
1) BEA don't have 'quickbook" format that I can choose
2) I had download the csv file, but it seems not in the format that quickbook can recognize. it prompts a message
"Something’s not quite right
Hi @johnny.liu,
Let's get your online bank connection in QuickBooks Online (QBO) up and running without any issues.
I suggest you log in to your online bank's web page, then check for any alerts or notifications. Once you've taken care of it, go back to your QBO company and press the Update button to refresh the connection.
As for the CSV file upload, you have 2 available formats to choose from:
3 column format
4 column format
Follow the steps in this article to correctly create CSV files you can upload to your QBO company: Format CSV files in Excel to get bank transactions into QuickBooks.
Direct other questions you may have about online banking in the section below. I'll be around to help you out.
Thanks for your information.
After I login to the ebanking and confirmed that there are no pop up / alert.
But the system still can't get connected.
The system's latest sync date is 21 March 2021. the logon screen / mechanism haven't change.
Would you please help to check the quickbook connector to HKBEA? I suspect their backend API / connection had changed and we can't do anything as end user.

Hello johnny.liu, I'm wondering if this issue was resolved for you as I'm experiencing the exact same problem with HKBEA. Last sync is end of Mar 2021 as well.
Same here. After 6 chat sessions yesterday over 2 hours, 4 of which the support staff up and left I finally got to talk with someone. They said there is a formal investigation started on this, I was supposed to be attached to it, so I could see the progress but have yet to receive any information. Maybe this will help when you talk with someone. They did say that it is an internal error on their part.
I got this error when trying to connect BEA bank feed. I wasn't able to connect the the personal and business accounts. Looks like BEA terminated the service and I hope QBO can work
What is BEA? Bank of England Arkansas?
Bank of East Asia and it's in Hong Kong.
Thanks for letting us know, @sesamemilktea.
Let me help get the bank feeds working for you.
You can manually upload your bank transaction. Let me show how to do that:
For accounts connected to online banking
For accounts not connected to banking
I also suggest to reach out to your bank. They have the tools to securely pull up your account to check on some details.
In case you will have duplicate bank transactions moving forward, follow this article as your guide: Exclude transactions downloaded from your bank or financial institution.
Lastly, to ensure all entries are accounted for correctly and with no duplicates, you can categorize and match them. Then, reconcile them to ensure your books are accurate.
Feel free to comment back below if you have more questions regarding this or any QuickBooks concerns. I'll be here to help. Have a good one.
Thanks for your solution. However of course we know we can import the bank feeds manually. But the essence of having automatic bank feed is the convenience. Since QBO showed it can integrate with The Bank of East Asia in HK for automatic bank feed and you did show it in the supported banks, I hope you can work with The Bank of East Asia to get the issue fixed instead of requiring us to manually download the bank feeds.
I understand your point about this matter, @sesamemilktea. I want to ensure you'll be able to connect your bank account to QuickBooks Online (QBO) so it downloads your transactions automatically.
Yes, the Bank of East Asia (BEA) in HK is supported for automatic connection with QBO. Since you're getting the message notification about cyberbanking, I recommend reaching out to our Support Team for further assistance. A live representative can open a ticket and our engineers can investigate the issue more closely.
To contact support:
For your convenience, I suggest contacting support from 6 AM to 6 PM PT every Monday to Friday, and 6 AM to 3 PM PT every Saturday.
Once your bank is connected to QuickBooks, the system automatically downloads your recent transactions. From there, you can proceed with categorizing them.
If you have any other follow-up questions about the connection between BEA and QBO, please let me know by adding a comment below. I'm more than happy to help. Have a good one!
