Hi there,
Let me chime in on this thread and provide you with some information about manually entering transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).
At this time, all the transactions manually entered into your account will automatically be posted to the Cash account. You'll want to consider connecting your bank or credit card account to QBSE and creating a rule to categorize the transactions.
We recognize each company has unique needs, and I can see how beneficial it is to your business to manually enter transactions without automatically posting them to the Cash account. With this, I recommend sending feedback to our software engineers. Here's how:
1. On your QBSE account, click on Assistant.
2. Type in "Send Feedback."
3. Select Add a feature to request.
4. Enter the feature you'd like to add.
I'll also include this link where you can search for guide articles for managing your QBSE account: QuickBooks Self-Employed Help Articles.
If you require further assistance with managing your credit card transactions in QBSE, feel free to leave a reply. The Community team always has your back. Have a good one!
Hello there,
Let's check to see if you're not experiencing some browser-related issues. It might be the reason why the transactions recorded reflect a different account rather than the one your selected.
To start with, open QuickBooks in an incognito window. You can use these keyboard keys to use one:
If it works, you can go back to a regular browser and clear the cache to remove corrupted web files. You can also switch to a different browser to isolate the issue further.
You can also read this article about adding transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed. It'll walk you through the steps on how to track your income and expenses.
Get back to me anytime if you have any more questions with regards to managing your transactions in QBSE. I'll be happy to help.
Thanks for your response.
I normally use Chrome, so I tried an Incognito Window there. That didn't work.
I tried Microsoft Edge, which I have never used for QB, and it did the same thing.
I do appreciate the help.
I'm sorry if this is a duplicate, but I'm not sure my last reply went through.

Oh how I feel your pain. I don't think there is a way to add an individual credit card transaction in QB Self Employed. (Only Cash transactions can be entered individually) This is s HUGE problem because my bank will not allow any transactions to be uploaded after three months. Therefore, I'm not going to be able to balance my account in QB. Looks like this will be the last year I use QB Self Employed or any other QB or this particular bank. I'm out of this time sucking maze.
I hear you!! I am struggling with a similar issue (my bank won't let me export any range of transactions). Extremely frustrating to not be able to either manually enter into a specific account or change the account!
