Let me share some clarification about importing older transactions to QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).
You can bring in earlier bank transactions to QBSE using only Excel CSV files and use either a 3-column or 4-column format. To import them successfully, let's start by reviewing the format of the spreadsheet. I've attached a screenshot for your reference.
Additionally, you need to select the Import older transactions option to import the CSV file. Here's how:
- At the top right, click the Gear icon.
- Select Imports.
- Search for your bank, then click Import older transactions.
- Select Browse, then locate the CSV file on your computer.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to finish importing your data.
After uploading, you can now classify your transactions as Business or Personal and assign the appropriate account to the Business ones.
