Let me discuss the various causes why your bank might not be linking to online banking in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @LOTSM books.

To provide further assistance, could you please provide the exact error message you receive when attempting to connect? This information will help us pinpoint the issue.

Here are some reasons you might be experiencing difficulty:

  • Your bank might appear under different names in our system. It’s a good idea to check that you’re selecting the right one. You can also try searching by the bank’s sign-in URL to ensure you’re using the correct listing.
  • Your bank might not support connections for all types of accounts (for example, personal accounts versus business accounts).
  • It’s possible that your credit union might not be set up as a participating financial institution.

In the meantime, let’s double-check if your bank is supported. Here’s how you can verify:

  1. Log in to your OnPoint account on their website and copy the URL.
  2. Head back to QuickBooks and go to Transactions, then select Bank Transactions.
  3. Click on Link account, and either paste the URL or search for OnPoint Credit Union in the search field.
  4. Enter your login credentials and click Continue.
  5. Choose the account you want to connect, select the appropriate date, and click Next.
  6. From the drop-down, select the account type and then click Next.
  7. Map your bank account using the Existing Accounts drop-down, then select Next.
  8. Finally, click Connect and then select Done.

For more detailed instructions, you can check this article: Find your bank account when you connect to online banking.

If you're still facing issues, try accessing QuickBooks in an incognito window or a private browser. This can help eliminate any cached file issues that might be interfering with your connection. Also, consider using other supported browsers to see if that resolves the problem.

You can refer to this article for further guidance: Connect and add bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online.

Once your transactions are downloaded, you can efficiently categorize and match them in QBO, which will help keep your books accurate.

OK, I have tried all the suggestions here and still cannot connect.  The only error message I receive is the 185 on a screen that allows to have text message sent to verify.  I do that and get a page listing only the checking and savings account.  I have talked with the bank and they indicate that the issue is on Quickbooks end.

Based on what you indicated in your last post, it appears that I am getting through to the bank, but somehow only the checking and saving are showing.  The bank has indicated that the CD should also show.  All this got me thinking. I have quicken and so I set up a company on Quicken and did a sign in to the bank to link the accounts.  In Quicken all three accounts appeared and I could link them.  That indicates that the bank has set that as an account that can be supported.

Seeing that you've tried all the suggested troubleshooting processes in linking your bank account and still get the same concern. I'd recommend you reach out to the technical support team, @LOTSM books. They have the tools to check into your account and see further about this issue.

This way they will be able to investigate the matter further and create an investigation ticket if other users are experiencing the same issue. I will guide you on how to do that, and we will work together to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Let me guide you on how:

1. Access your QuickBooks Online (QBO) company, go to Help (?).

2. Choose either of these tabs:

  • Assistant tab and type Talk to a human.
  • Search tab and click on Contact Us to connect with a support expert.

3. Select the preferred method of contact (phone or chat).

After locating your bank or credit card account and establishing a connection to online banking, you can proceed to link these accounts to QBO.
