Join nowHi there, @michaelprakhina.
Thanks for visiting the Community. Banking error 102 means QuickBooks Online is unable to connect to your FI's ( Financial Institution) website. Normally, this error is fixed on its own within 24 hours. I'd suggest you wait for 2 to 3 hours to update your connected bank account again.
If the error persists after 72 hours, I'd recommend contacting our QuickBooks Customer Care team to help you check the connections between QuickBooks and your connected AMEX credit card. They have a special tool to help you identify the cause and fix the issue. They can also gather all the information needed whenever a thorough investigation is necessary.
For your reference, check out this help article: What to do if bank transactions won’t download or there's a bank error. It has lists of specific banking errors and its fix in case you encounter any during updates.

Apparently quickbooks customer care was no help!
This is a first time Amex credit card set up. I was able to set up yesterday about 10 different credit cards and bank accounts e.g. bank of America, chase, capital one etc. but not Amex personal, Amex business worked just fine. I'm able to connect to connect to Amex from Bank of America (similar functionality) to download transactions but not from quickbooks online.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
I appreciate you getting back to us and providing additional information about your concern, @michaelprakhina.
We currently have an ongoing issue where users are getting error 102 when connecting AMEX Credit Card (US) in QuickBooks Online. Rest assured that our product engineers are diligently working for a fix.
To ensure you'll get an update about the resolution status, I recommend reaching out to our Customer Support Team again. They have to collect personal data and add your company to the list of affected users and provide this investigation number for easy tracking: INV-37623.
