Payments in prior to reconciliation

As I am beginning a bank reconciliation with none of the circles checked, at the top it is showing that there are already two withdrawals/payments made and counted.  It turns out that this amount is what I am off by. How can I find these two payments?

Payments in prior to reconciliation

Hello there, @Birdwell Bookkeeping.

The two payments/withdrawal might have been checked accidentally.

I see that you tried to review the circles of the payments. Still, we can do more to make sure you'll be able to see the transactions showing under the Payments section.

Sample screenshot:

Let's double-check the two payments one more time. Here's how:

  1. Open the Reconciliation page.
  2. Go to the Payments tab.
  3. Make sure to filter correctly. Date, Transactions TypePayee, and other details you might think for those particular payments
  4. Click Apply to reflect the changes.
  5. Make changes (if necessary).

Another way that you might consider doing this is by going to the register. From the Accounting menu, select the account where the payments are placed.

  1. After opening the account, select the Filter icon.
  2. Then select the filters you want to apply. Make sure the date is set up correctly. You can use the Find field to search by amount, reference number, or memo.
  3. Select Apply.

If the same thing happens, we can refresh your browser to optimize QuickBooks' performance. This could be the reason why payments are showing.

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks account using an incognito window.
  2. Clear the cache on your regular browser.
  3. Another option is to use supported browsers with QuickBooks.

You can check the reconciliation workflow in QuickBooks as a reference that can aid you whenever you need assistance with a reconciliation. You can also view, print, or export reconciliation reports to get data from previous reconciliations: How to View, Print, or Export Reconciliation Report?.

Don't hesitate to post another one below if need further help with those payments or have any other concerns related to QuickBooks. Take care and stay safe, Birdwell Bookkeeping.
