PayPal cashback Mastercard won’t reconnect

I have previously used the PayPal Cashback Mastercard with quick books self employed for close to 2 years never had a problem. Then last week it stopped connecting and uploading and now it won’t refresh. Next to the card name it says (retired) and the text is gray not black so I cannot even click on it. I have tried to reconnect the card again but can’t find the bank to connect to. I have contacted quick books via chat and phone but have been unsuccessful with help. I need this for business and not having it connected is very frustrating. Any ideas?

PayPal cashback Mastercard won’t reconnect

Good day, Imprint777. Let's get your account reconnected in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Your bank’s connection may be interrupted for any of the following reasons:

  • If there is a minor or major update in your bank information such as the bank account number.
  • Update on your bank’s website. If you can't find your FI, you can request support from your bank and request it be added.
  • Update in your Online Banking Login credentials.
  • Bank outage and other scheduled maintenance.

To refresh your bank's connection, here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Bank accounts.
  3. Click Refresh All button.
  4. You can do this 2 or 3 times during non-peak hours.

You can get more details in this article: Find your bank or credit card account when you connect to online banking. On the same link, you'll find steps on how to reconnect your account using the bank's URL.

If the issue persists, I would suggest getting in touch with our QuickBooks Self-Employed Support. Unlike in this public forum, they have the tools required to perform any escalations in the system whenever necessary on your behalf.

In the meantime, as a way around, I'd recommend importing your transactions manually, you can ask your financial institution for a CSV file format and import them into QuickBooks. See the steps below to complete the process.

I'm adding these helpful articles for ideas about categorizing your transactions after managing your bank accounts.

Let me know how the result of this troubleshooting in the comment below. I need to make sure this is resolved so you can start running your business processing. All the best!

PayPal cashback Mastercard won’t reconnect

I have contacted quick books customer service already. They could not help me. I have refreshed the account many many times. On my quick books account page that account is in gray text and I am unable to edit any of the information. The website underneath has been changed to “lappyapp.com” which is a domain for sale. Something must have happened and now it’s frozen.

I have contacted customer service 2 times and they were unable to help me. The bank I’m having trouble with on my quick books page says “retired” next to it

“PayPal extras Mastercard (retired)” and the i am unable to edit any of the information it is in gray text. I also noticed that website is “www.lappyapp.com”which goes to a domain sale. I have refreshed many times. I also connect from scratch because the bank is no longer on the options.

Hi Imprint777,

I appreciate you for reaching out to our Phone Support team.

There may be issues with your bank that causes your PayPal Cashback Mastercard account to show as Retired.

You can verify this by loggin into bank's website and look for any messages, notifications, or alerts. These should tell you if something isn't working.

If everything's good on your bank's website, I'd recommend getting in touch to one of our Customer Care support. Our agents can take a look at your account, and they may open an investigation about your PayPal Cashback Mastercard.

In the meantime, you can manually import your bank transactions into QBSE. Then, categorize the downloaded transactions from your bank.

Visit our Banking page for more insights about managing your bank transactions.

If you have other banking-related questions, feel free to post them in the forum. Assistance is just a post away.

Still cannot connect. quickbooks and PayPal are both unhelpful. Telling me the same steps. There is no option for PayPal cashback Mastercard to connect.

The PayPal address is changed www.lappyapp.com. The existing card is in gray and I cannot make any changes to even attempt to update the address. This issue needs to be escalated

PayPal cashback Mastercard won’t reconnect

Hello there.

Let me ensure you'll be directed to our available support so you can connect your PayPal Mastercard to QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

I appreciate you for performing the suggested troubleshooting steps above. Since none of those have worked on your end, I'd recommend contacting our customer support for further assistance. This way, they can arrange a screen-sharing session with you in a protected setting to identify the issue and provide you with a resolution. They may also raise an investigation if necessary.

To do that:

  1. Go to the Help icon and select Contact Us.
  2. Enter talk to a human and click Continue.
  3. Choose between Chat with us or Have us call you.

Moreover, you'll want to create rules to categorize recent and past transactions twice faster. They work best when you have the same types of transactions from the same vendor or customer.

Please don't hesitate to reply to this thread if you need further assistance connecting your bank with QBSE. We're always around to help you anytime. Take care, and have a good one!

PayPal cashback Mastercard won’t reconnect

Hello.

I have a couple of PayPal Cashback MasterCard questions, so I'm jumping in on this thread.  If I need to post elsewhere, just let me know.

  1. A few weeks ago my PayPal MasterCard connection was disconnected, supposedly for a sign-in issue on the PayPal side.  NO issue was found.  But since I reconnected, my PP MasterCard cashback rewards are showing up in my bank feed, and I do not want them to.  I've had this issue a couple of years back and somehow was able to fix it (by disconnecting and reconnecting the link), but it's not fixing this time.  And, after I reconnected the credit card account, it shows the balance of the cash back, NOT the credit card balance!!   NOT what I need!!
  2. Why are my PP MasterCard transactions in the bank feed all wonky?  Charges show up in the "received" column, and credit card payments/credits/refunds show up in the "spent" column.  For many of the transactions in the feed, I have to "exclude" then go into the register to see what goes where.  VERY FRUSTRATING.

Not sure if anyone else is having these issues, but I'm not a newbie to QBO and this should not be so difficult to correct.

Thanks.

Thanks for getting involved with this thread, dvmason.

To get more information about how your bank sends transaction data to QuickBooks, I'd recommend checking their website or getting in touch with their support team.

I've also included a couple detailed resources about banking topics which may come in handy moving forward:
