New install of QB Desktop Enterprise 2020, manually importing QBO files. Yesterday this install of QB was recording the "Downloaded As" memo to the register memo when I approved transactions. All of a sudden, it stopped working. Can't figure out how to fix this. Not in Banking Preferences.
Actually, I see it it automatically working for bank account QBO files, but not credit card QBO files. On bank and credit card QBO files I see the "Downloaded As" column of the bank feed shows the memo, and it's automatically recording that to the memo on the register for my bank account, but it's not doing the same for the credit card account?
Hello BOQARI,
If you added the transaction from Online banking, the memo of the downloaded transaction will work and carry on.
But if you matched to an existing transaction with a memo, the memo will be lost and use the existing transaction.

Hi Madelyn. Please reread my question. I am importing a .QBO file, which does include the memo. I am assigning an account to the transactions in the "Transaction List" of the Bank Feed for that credit card, where the "Downloaded As" memos do show. However, when I perform the batch action of "Add/Approve", the memos are not being recorded in the account register. They are being discarded by QB.
Having the same issue
Hello there,
It's possible that the system needs an update that it didn't meet the newly imported bank transactions. Before you import them into QuickBooks, let's ensure that you've created a backup of your company file so you can go back to it if you don't want the changes you've made. Also, you're using a supported version of QuickBooks Desktop and updated Internet Explorer to the latest version since it uses most of the windows in the system.
After you've checked these requirements, you can switch banking modes and then import your .QBO files again. Here's how:
If you're still getting the same result, you can try importing them into a test company file. You can follow step 5 on the Fix Web Connect Import Errors article.
Keep me posted if there's anything else that you need help with. Take care!
