Hi, @adam8.
Welcome to the Community. I'm here to help figure out why QuickBooks is randomly deleting lines from your entries.
I've checked to be sure if there's an ongoing issue about this. However there's none, so it's possible that this is a web page problem. Let's try checking by logging in to QuickBooks using a private browser. Here's how:
You can also try using a different browser. If it works, I recommend clearing your previous browser's cache to start fresh.
However, if the issue persists even if you're using other browsers, I'd suggest contacting our Online Care Support so they can access your account in a secure environment and dig deeper into what's causing this unusual behavior.
I'll be on the lookout if you have additional questions about your entries in QuickBooks. I'm here to help however I can.
The OP is correct. QBO is deleting the wrong lines when users click the trash can. It has happened to me numerous times today. Example: I have 8 lines of purchases entered that were populated from a precious transaction. I go down through lines 1-5 and update the qty and price. When I reach line I realize I did not order any of these do I click the trash can. In my case, it always deletes line 1 no matter what trash can I click.
The Community has you covered, @WRECKROOM.
Issues like this are usually the result of outdated or corrupt cache files in your web browser. Browser caches help speed up basic browsing that allow you to save more time when loading repetitive images or information. However, it can impact processes and cause this unexpected behavior when your browser accumulates too much historical data. Not to worry, you can clear them in just a few easy steps.
In the meantime, we can start by accessing your account through an incognito window to rule out the possibility of a webpage issue. You can refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:
• Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
• Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
• Safari: press Command + Shift + N
Once logged in, go back and try to click the trash can again. If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache to refresh the program. We advise our users to delete them now and then to prevent and fix issues like this.
However, if you get the same result while using a private browser, I recommend switching to a different browser.

No offense, but this is the Intuit response to every user problem. Clear your cache files! I have done that, many times and I do it often as a matter of precaution. There is a bug, sadly not uncommon for Quickbooks Online and will probable never get fixed but if you read my post carefully you can replicate the issue. BTW, I have replicated the issue on 4 different computers now, so it is not my PC or my cache files. I do thank you for answering. It is appreciated even though I don't sound very appreciative. Just very frustrated that I have to keep re-entering the first line because I forget not to "click away" before I click the trash can.
I wish I could make it better, @WRECKROOM. I want to ensure this problem is addressed timely.
Since the issue persists, I recommend contacting our Customer Care Support. You can work with one of our specialists in letting our engineering team investigate why random line items of your entries are deleted. I'll show you how.

It's not browser issue.
QBO needs to fix this deleting line issue for it is WASTING OUR TIME. WERE YOU MAKING JOURNAL ENTRIES AT MIDNIGHT TO GET YOUR WORK DONE & WITH QBO INCREASING YOUR TIME TO GET THINGS DONE BECAUSE IT IS DELETING WRONG LINES.
THIS ISSUE HAPPENS IN ALL BROWERS, WITH CACHE & BROWSING HISTORY CLEARED & IN AN INCOGNITO WINDOW. QBO SUPPORT EVEN HAD THIS OCCUR TO THEM ON THEIR COMPUTER WHEN I CALLED TO COMPLAIN & THEY TRIED TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE.
