Setting up online banking through Truist

Due to the SunTrust to Truist merger I am no longer able to use my previous financial software so I purchased QuickBooks desktop for Mac.  I have created a company and now when I go to setup online banking I keep getting a connection error when it prompts me to login to Truist.  I have spent hours on the phone with Truist who assures me I am properly signed up in their system and it is a Quickbooks issue?  However, no one from Quickbooks is available to help me until after the weekend.  So I am hoping someone here can give me some guidance on what to try.  I am desperate to fix this issue this weekend before I have to go back to my paying job on Monday. LOL!

I 'm here to help ensure your bank is connected to QuickBooks. The error can be due to damaged data.

 

Let's rebuild your company file to fix it. Before you start, make sure to backup your company file. Then, you can follow these steps:

 

  1. From the File menu, select Utilities.
  2. Select Verify Data, then click OK.
  3. Go back to the File menu, then Utilities.
  4. Tap Rebuild Data.
  5. Hit OK.

You can also update QuickBooks for Mac to the latest release to get the latest features and fixes.

This is a brand new company file I just created today but I tried the steps you suggested.  Once I then try to setup online banking I get the same connection error.  Do you have any other suggestions?

I can share another set of troubleshooting steps that can help resolve the error. 

 

First, you want to make sure that you have the latest release of QuickBooks Desktop for Mac installed. This way, you'll always get our newest security patches and bug fixes.

 

Next, follow the procedures in the Step 1 section of this article to update your financial institution list: Fix Online Banking Issues in QuickBooks for Mac. If the error persists, continue to Step 2.

I just purchased Quickbooks and installed it last week so it is up to date. 

I tried adding another company like you suggested and still have the same connection error.

Any other suggestions?

I am still waiting to see if you have any other suggestions.  I have spoken to Truist 4 times since your last reply and they are not able to help me.  They say the problem is on the Qucikbooks end???

Since the error persists after contacting Truist bank and performing the recommended steps above provided by my colleagues, this time, I recommend contacting our Customer Care Team. This way, they'll be able to check further the root cause of the issue and provide additional troubleshooting steps.

 

To reach them, here's how:

  1. Open QuickBooks. 
  2. Go to the Help menu at the top.
  3. Select QuickBooks Desktop Help
  4. Type Contact Us in the search box. Then, click on Contact Us at the bottom. 
  5. Select the way you wish to connect with support.

 

Ensure to review their support hours, so you'll know when agents are available.
