Support for QuickBooks Desktop Mac 2020 will end on 5/31/23.

How is it that as of May 31 the program will no longer support downloading transactions from your bank?  I use the desktop version and my personal internet at my home.  Will you be installing a block via an update?  This really makes no logical sense.  Please help me understand what I'm missing.

Thank you

Your online banking / bank feeds sessions all go through Intuit's servers.  So, they can turn them off at any time, which they do when the pull support after about three and a half years after a given version-year is launched.

Hello there, @LisaJ22. I'll gladly discuss the discontinuation of QuickBooks Desktop Mac 2020.

Yes, you're right. Once your software gets discontinued, you can no longer download bank transactions directly from the program. Also, your access to QBDT payroll services, Live Support, Online Backup, and any other add Ons will discontinue too. However, you can download it from your bank and manually import it to QBDT.

Also, please know that if you don't use the add-on services inside the program, you can continue to use your product to perform basic business-related tasks. For more information about this, feel free to check this page: QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation policy.

In addition, if you wish to upgrade your current program to the latest version. You can visit this page to see what the latest release has to offer: What’s new in QuickBooks Desktop 2023.

@LisaJ22, if you have any additional QuickBooks-related concerns, feel free to post them here in the Community space. I'll make sure to get back to you as soon as possible. Stay safe!

Okay, my mistake I thought using the desktop version and linking straight to my bank kept my info between me and my bank.  I will not be using the Online version.  I have the luxury of going back to Quicken so I'll probably start  transferring my files. Now.  Bummer.

This is extortion.  I purchased this stand alone product outright and how dare you now stop the basic features that came with this program. Your price gouging "fees" to use a product I purchased outright is disgusting. I will be leaving Quickbooks. You only care about profit.

@Exuser

If you are working solo on a desktop (PC or Mac) to manage your book and only need basic features, you should explore this one. You can use the program for as long as you like, use all the features and enter as much data as required. There are no time limits, no usage limits, no ads (at this time). This program is quite popular in Asia and Europe.
