So, after 12+ years of using QB desktop version they did an "upgrade" which remove the option to download banking transactions. How do they have the right to go into my software that I OWNED and remove features? Then they FORCED me to an online monthly subscription of $60 per month for a version that would not even import my custom reports. They told me to recreate them. I told them to cancel my subscription. I will never use an Intuit product again. TWELVE YEARS of being a customer.
There is currently no forced upgrade to QB Online. There's a big marketing push, required because Online is so very bad, but you can still purchase QB Desktop - which I highly encourage.
If you only need to use QB Desktop with a single user, you can use the trial version for good with a workaround. Then you can run the bank feeds again.
I owned the 2017 Quickbooks Desktop Pro. My hard drive failed and could not get the program off the old hard drive. I always back up that information before existing Quickbooks so I could get all the previous information from the flash drive and be up to date. I just need the 2017 version. Where and how do I get it please?

Currently that is NOT true. They have recently expired 2 of my customers desktop versions, only 1 - 2 months old, permanent licenses, 2024 NON-subscription.
Did your clients have QB Desktop 2024 with non subscription licenses?
Your concern about the expired QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) 2024 is understandable, Carey. Allow me to provide some clarity to prevent any confusion.
The QBDT 2024 is subscription-based. Starting with the 2022 version, we no longer offer a one-time license or non-subscription software.
For QBDT Enterprise users, they have the option of choosing a monthly or annual subscription. Meanwhile, Pro or Premier version users can only opt for the yearly subscription.
Given that you mentioned the software is only 1 to 2 months old and has already expired, I suggest advising your customer to log in to the Customer Account Maintenance Portal (CAMPs) to check their license details and subscription.
Here's how to log in:
Keep in mind that they'll need to have an active subscription to open their company file.
Moreover, you can visit our Help pages. It contains detailed articles that provide comprehensive instructions and guidelines on managing QuickBooks Desktop more efficiently.

Either way Intuit wins...the price of the desktop version is effectively 3x-6x of what it used to be when they offered products with 3 years of validity. Lock 'em in and squeeze profits as hard as you can!
