Join nowHi All, I currently have a AMEX Starwood card linked to QBO. I am unable to add a AMEX Business Plus card as well. I keep getting this error message from the AMEX Website "Your enrollment into Connect to QuickBooks cannot be completed as an American Express online account has already been connected to this QuickBooks account. Please disconnect your previous American Express account before proceeding."
Any thoughts on how to solve this. AMEX support was going nowhere.
Thank You
Hello there, DMRRehab.
I’m here to share a few details about connecting AMEX card into QuickBooks Online.
The American Express-Connect to QuickBooks app only supports one AMEX login connection per QBO company file. You’ll only be able to add your AMEX Business Plus card into the program if it has different login credentials from the AMEX Starwood card.
If that’s the case, you can link the additional card through the standard Bank Feeds connection for AMEX. You can check out the Connect a new bank account section of the article below:
Connect bank accounts and manage imported transactions
However, if both cards have the same login details, you can opt to bring in the AMEX Business Plus card transactions through a manual import. You just need to export them from your bank’s website via a web connect file, then upload them into the program.
Here are steps on how to import:
For more details, refer to the Upload or Import bank transactions section of this article:
Upload more than 90 days of bank transactions in QuickBooks Online
Also, I’ve added an article which shows an overview about American Express Connect to QuickBooks:
Access and use American Express Connect to QuickBooks
This workaround can surely bring in your AMEX Business Plus transactions into QuickBooks Online. Don’t hesitate to let me know if you have additional questions. I’ll be here anytime.
This is a significant issue affecting thousands of American Express OPEN users in Quickbooks Online: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/community/Questions-about-QuickBooks/American-Express-transactions-not...
QBO developers are not taking it seriously, however (as this fatal bug has existed for more than two months). There is no known workaround beyond manual entry of all business transactions.
