You can manually import transactions from the past 18 months during the initial setup of the connection, you just need to select a specific date range of a past date. If you want to choose a past date that wasn't included during the initial setup, I recommend disconnecting your PayPal and reconnecting it in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Please note that there's no option to filter on what type of transactions that will be imported. QuickBooks will sync all your available entries; however, it won't include the temporary holds and releases. For other irrelevant transactions that you don't need, you can exclude them in the For Review tab.

I figured it out on my own.
I pulled the statement data from 1/1/24 - 5/21/24. I duplicated the lines, and deleted the gross from one set, and the fees from the other set, so that one acts as credits, and the other acts as the debits. I removed all hold line items. I divided the file into sections less than 1000 lines, and manually imported the data, using 2 lines for credits and debits.
We have encountered similar issues. We can only sync the latest six months of PayPal transactions, but we need the entire year of 2024. I’ve tried disconnecting and reconnecting, but that didn’t resolve the problem. I plan to manually add the missing entries for the first four months, but I’m unsure how to do that. I have downloaded the PayPal transactions in a CSV file. Is there a step-by-step guide for adding these entries into QuickBooks?

During the PayPal reconnection process, it didn’t prompt me to enter a date. Any idea why this might be happening? While when I synced QuickBooks with my other bank account, it did prompt for a date, so that worked as expected.

Thank you so much for your assistance. I disconnected and reconnected PayPal again. During the reconnection process, I did notice there is an option to select how far back I want the transactions to be imported. However, I cannot choose a date earlier than six months.

I checked with PayPal, and they confirmed there’s no limitation on their end. They provided some steps, but my backend interface looks different from what they described. Could you help me double-check? Syncing data for the full year would make things much easier for me.
