Thanks for visiting us today, @acphoto71. I'd be delighted to provide information regarding the banking page interface in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.

Your default view is based on what you told us when you first set up QuickBooks. Rest assured, your accounts or data won't be affected when switching between them at any time.

Based on your statement, it seems that you have switched the view of your QBO account to the Accountant view. In this view, you can see the Add button, while in the Business view, you can see the Review or Confirm button. See these screenshots below for your visual reference:

If you want to change your display interface, just follow these simple steps:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Switch to Business view at the lower-right corner.

Importantly, the process of categorizing your online transactions stays the same with both views. Here's an article for more details: Categorize online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Furthermore, you can visit this article that'll help you speed up the review process of your online bank transactions: Set up bank rules to categorize online banking transactions in QuickBooks Online.

I'm always around and ready to help if you have more questions about managing your bank transactions in QBO. Just click the Reply button to add your comment so I can assist you further. Have a great day!

What happend to the "review" and "confirm" buttons under Transactions? I now just see Add and don't know what to do with that...

Hi Kevin,

It looks like my profile is stuck in the "accountant" view. Is there a way to switch to the simple "business" view? When I got to the gear icon, I don't have the toggle to switch between the two different views.

Yes, you can definitely switch to the simple business view, amilo. Here's how to do it:

1. Go to the Gear icon.
2. In the lower right corner, click the Switch from Accountant view to Business view option.

If you don't see the Switch from Accountant view to Business view option, it could be because of the user role your client has assigned to you. You may have been added as an In house accountant, as this role can only access the Accountant view. In this case, you may want to reach out to your client about it.

To get more insights about different user roles, please refer to this article: User roles and access rights.

You can also perform basic troubleshooting to see if it's a browser-related issue, as QuickBooks may experience unusual behavior due to stored internet cache files. You can refer to this guide for the steps: Troubleshooting browser problems.

Additionally, we'd like to share this resource to guide you in customizing your reports in QuickBooks Online (QBO): Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.
