I understand that not having the option to split by amount can be quite confusing especially when you always use this. Don't worry, I'm here to help you rectify that and be able to keep going with your QuickBooks tasks. 

 

As I've replicated your scenario here on my end, I was able to select the Amount option from the Split dropdown. In your case, you might be experiencing browser-related issues. I'll share some steps that can resolve some of the most common browser issues in QuickBooks Self-Employed. 

 

You can start by switching to an incognito/private browsing session. You can also use a different supported browser if you have other options on your computer. Let me share these keyboard shortcuts on how to open an incognito session: 

 

  • Mozilla Firefox : CTRL + Shift + P
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + P

 

Once signed in, please select the Amount option again. If you're now able to do so, return to your regular browser and clear your browsing history. Sometimes, when your web browser visits pages very often, the system might start acting oddly. This could happen when some of the cache files that help your browser work properly become damaged or corrupted.

The first is what types of transactions can you split by amount and what types you notice can't. The second question is, are the same results whether you try to split them on the QBSE website or in the mobile app?
