Why does quickbooks jump to the top of the transaction list when you update a transaction? This is getting on my nerves and is too time consuming. It did not use to.

Hi there, @janettx.

At this time, updating a transaction in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) is working as designed to jump at the top of the transaction list as default.

I can see how much time you can save updating your transactions without going back and finding those entries. But I want to let you know that your voice matters and I'm taking note of your feedback.

For more information about categorizing and editing transactions, feel free to check out this article: Categorize and edit transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Please touch base with me here for all of your QuickBooks needs, I'm always happy to help. Have a good day.

It did not use to do that or I wouldn't be using it.  Also it's just acting crazy, when I try to update one transaction it updates some other transaction entirely and then changes the banks description etc.  Also totally losing transactions.  I had to add a transaction that I was editing because it just disappeared, I searched by bank name and amount and the transaction is just gone.
Not sure what updates have been made since I used it about 3 months ago but I hope this is not the new norm....

Welcome back, @janettx.

I want to make sure your concerns are addressed. After trying to update a transaction within my QuickBooks Self-Employed account, it does jump back to the top of the transaction list. QuickBooks is always trying to improve the flow and features of the product for you and other customers.

Since you're having issues with other transactions, I recommend clearing your browsing data. QuickBooks will then load as a fresh new page to remove any glitches that may be occurring within your account. Here's how to clear your cache and cookies in the Google Chrome browser:

  1. Go to the Three Vertical Dots (Menu) within the browser.
  2. Click History and then History again.
  3. Press Clear Browsing Data on the left-hand side of the screen.
  4. In the "Time Range" section, pick All Time.
  5. Choose Clear Data.

Touch base with me after trying these steps. I want to make sure that we're able to get this issue resolved as soon as possible.

This can not be right.

So If I'm in transactions and I am viewing all....  then when I update a transaction the list goes all the way to the top and then I have to scroll down for ages to get to where I am in the updating of transactions...but If I use the "unreviewed"  then I can't also update the category because it's not there to update to say if it's supplies or office expense.... I don't understand this can not be true because NO ONE would use this software if this is true can someone please direct me to how to fix this problem?

Yes, I am waiting to see if this is correct.  I just don't believe it.  It didn't use to be like this so I'm guessing something has happened.  How does everyone update transactions if they don't do it daily?

I've been using this since 2015 so this is not a new program the updates are new,  My PC and internet connection is more than I need for this or any program.

Hello there, janettx.

This is how QuickBooks works every time you update transactions.

For now, you may consider using the three tabs above the list of transactions. With that, you can figure out the transactions that you wanted to see and review right away.

Rest assured, I'll send another feedback under your name on this matter. We are all right here if you need other help. I hope you're good.

yes that is not helpful with scrolling at all and if I did use that instead of scrolling it would be more time consuming than scrolling. And all the online help is for the old way it was not the updated version.

I'm fine thanks for your concern, just pulling out my hair that I'm paying so much for something that has been updated to be so so so slow and I'm in a time crunch here.
