Why is this fu***ing QBO not updating TD BANK feeds? Every single week I have a problem with this disgraceful program.

It's one disappointment after the other. QBO has been having issues every single week with the bank feeds. And when I contact the "customer service" they know nothing. Only says it'll start an investigation and bla bla bla and THE PROBLEM IS NOT FIXED. Why has QBO downgraded SO MUCH in the last couple of years? Why can anyone competent enough run the program and actually fix the fu**** issues?

This is not the impression we want you to have when using the bank feeds feature in QuickBooks, @accounting208.

If your account is connected to QuickBooks Online to directly download transactions, we can manually update the connection on the Banking page. It refreshes the ties between the bank's website and QuickBooks.

Here's how:

  1. Log in to your QBO account.
  2. On the left pane, choose Banking.
  3. Click to highlight the account you're updating.
  4. Click the Update button.
  5. If asked, enter your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). Then select Continue update.

If you get the same result, let's check if you can log in to your bank's website through the URL that it has provided for online banking. Make sure you're using the exact URL in QuickBooks Online.

Here's how:

  1. On the left pane, choose eBanking
  2. At the top left, click Banking
  3. Select Add Account
  4. Search and select your bank from the list.
  5. Click the login URL for your bank's website posted at the top of the window
  6. Log in using your bank username and password
  7. Verify that you can access your account through this linked website. Log in and confirm that you can see your account summary, account history, and account details without any errors.

If the issue persists, I suggest signing in to your bank’s website to check if there's ongoing maintenance. Not being able to sync bank entries to QuickBooks usually happens when there's an issue on the bank's end.

Once done, you can now categorize your transactions by matching and adding them to avoid duplicates. In addition to that, you may review also this resource to see information on how you can reconcile your accounts so they always match your bank and credit card statements to avoid discrepancies: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

Feel at ease to comment if you have additional queries about connecting or updating your bank in QuickBooks Online. I'm always here to help.

Utilize a 3d party solution to fix the issue for the time being, Otherwise, switch to another accounting app and purchase a 3rd party conversion service.

Accounting208, was this resolved for you? I have QB Desktop and was having no problems connecting to TD bank up until last week. Now I'm getting an error message. TD Bank was useless, says it is a QB issue...

I am having the same problem! I try to follow the instructions, but I’m not able to find the “e banking” or an area to enter my banks URL. My expenses won’t update unless I refresh every time, but it’s not correct regardless.
I too spoke to an “expert”, but he was no help.

I know that you did everything you could to fix the connection issue of your TD bank with QuickBooks Online (QBO), @tomatoes. I'll share additional information and steps on how you can connect it.

Let me provide a clarification about the steps provided by my colleague above. To use your bank's URL in connecting the account, you have to go to the Banking page. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu (Accountant view) and select the Banking tab or Bookkeeping menu and select Transactions tab (Business view).
  2. Next, click the Link account button on the Bank transactions page (Business view) or Banking page (Accountant view).
  3. From there, enter the name or the URL of your TD Bank.
  4. Select the correct one from the list and enter your User Name and Password.
  5. After that, select the account that you want to connect and the date to pull transactions from the dropdown.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Then, choose your account type on the Account type dropdown, then select Next.

For more details, read Step 1 of this article: Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online.

If you're still unable to do it, you can manually import TD Bank transactions into the program via CSV files. If in case you encounter duplicates, you can use the Exclude option to remove them.

Once the transactions are in, you can now categorize and match them in QBO.

You can always post here again if you have other concerns about connecting your bank account to QuickBooks. Have a good one.
