Rule applying blank category on split

I have a few rules that I use to split up deposits and they have worked great for about a year but now when I click edit split the categories are blank and the only way to get the categories to show are by adding lines and they they will appear. I have tried deleting and recreating the rules, didn't fix the issue. It also happens on at least two different rules. Any ideas?! Thanks!

There are times that local internet cache files stored in the system can cause unexpected behavior in the product, localtodd.

Thank you for the screenshot you've provided here. It makes the situation more clear.

Let’s perform some basic troubleshooting so that you have the option to view the category in the split transactions.

Let's go ahead and try signing in to QBO using a private or incognito window. This mode doesn't use the existing cache data and helps us confirm browser-related issues.

Here's how:

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Option + P

If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to delete those temporarily stored files and browsing history. The overtime collection of data can create corruption, however, removing this should fix the issue. You can also use other supported, up-to-date browsers to roll out the possibility of a browser-related issue.

See the Setup bank rules to categorize online banking transactions in QuickBooks Online for the steps and details. Feel free to visit our Banking page for more insights about managing your bank feeds and reconciling accounts.

Kindly update this thread with the result, as I want to make sure everything is taken care of for you. Have a good one. Stay safe!

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, clearing the cache, cookies, and browser history didn't seem to help.
