When I did a link with one of my credit cards to download the transactions, it started on 9/20/21 instead of 1/1/21 as selected, why is this?

What prevents previous transactions to be downloaded to QBO, i.e. I asked for transactions starting 07/20/21 to today and it only captured transactions from 9/20/21 to today.

Hi, @pguilbault77-gma. Thank you for reaching the Community. Let me assist you today, so you’re able to download your transactions in QuickBooks Online.

When you connect a bank account, it only brings the last 90 days of your transactions by default.

As a workaround, you can manually upload them using a CSV file. The steps below will walk you through the process:

  1. From the Transactions tab, select Banking.
  2. In the Link account drop-down, select Upload from file.
  3. Click the Drag and drop or select files button.
  4. Select the CSV file and then open.
  5. In the QuickBooks account dropdown, select the account you want to upload the transactions into.
  6. Follow the onscreen steps to match the columns on the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks.
  7. Select the transactions
  8. Select Yes.
  9. Click Lets go.

Alternatively, you can also add those transactions through the WebConnect process. You can refer to this article for more details.

When everything is all set, you'll want to check out these articles for guidance. These can guide you further on how to categorize your transactions and reconcile your account flawlessly:

Another option, utilize MT Online to import your old transactions. It is designed to import into any bank or credit card in QuickBooks Online, so there is no specific setting needed.
