Hi arrangeCARE!
When your employees get paid will be based on your direct deposit lead time. Let me share some details about it.
Depends also on your payroll plan, you may have either Same-day direct deposit, 1-day lead time, and 5-day lead time.
For the same-day direct deposit, you need to submit payroll before 7:00 AM on payday or before 5:00 PM on the day before payday. 1-day lead time must be before 5:00 PM PST 1 business day prior to payday, while the 5-day lead time requires you to submit your payroll before 5:00 PM PST 5 business days prior to payday.
Also, you're right. Your employees will receive their pay on or before 5:00 PM local time. You can check the direct deposit status by following these steps:
For us to further check this, it's best to reach out to our Payroll Experts again. They have all the tools needed to review your payroll.
You may check these articles I've added. These will show you more info on how to manage your payroll:

No, I have talked with your team of payroll experts twice yesterday and got two different WRONG answers.
1) I approved payroll on Thursday.
2) Friday: No direct deposit occurred
3) Saturday: Received notification that there was an error on Quickbook's part
4) Monday: No direct deposit. Called in the AM. Was told that payroll would be deposited by end of working day. Called after 6:00. I was told that the money would be deposited by midnight PST
5: Tuesday: GUESS WHAT? NO DEPOSITS WERE MADE! BILLS CAN'T BE PAID! NO OFFENSE TO YOU PERSONALLY, BUT YES I AM YELLING.THIS ERROR MADE BY QUICKBOOKS IS JACKING WITH PEOPLE'S FINANCIAL WELLBEING, AND I CAN'T GET A DECENT ANSWER!!!!!
Thank you for getting back to this thread, @arrangeCARE.
I do understand how important it is to pay your employees on time. This isn't the kind of experience we want you to perceive with the product.
The issue with regards to Direct Deposit was already resolved and your employees should expect to see the funds available in their bank account depending on its lead time.
Since the money wasn't deposited, I'd recommend reaching out again to our Payroll Support Team. They have the available tools that could check your payroll account and fix the issue. Simply follow the steps that were shared by my colleague above to connect with them.
Please also check out our support hours to ensure that we address your concerns on time.
After running your payroll, you can also check your payroll reports to review your liabilities in QuickBooks before paying your taxes.
Thank you for your patience as we focus to ensure your employees’ funds are available as soon as possible.
