The system allows you to search for the transactions before 03/01/2021, @vwiley8.
I'm here to help you with searching for your transactions successfully. First, I recommend logging in to your account using a private browser. Then, search for your transactions from there. In most cases, unusual behavior or an issue like this happens due to the stocked file on your browser's cache.
To save you time, use either of these keyboard shortcuts:
If it works fine, go back to your original browser and clear its cache to start fresh. Moreover, you may use another supported and up-to-date browser to narrow down the result.
Alternatively, you can find your transactions easily by pulling up your reports. From there, set the date before 03/01/2021. You can use this link as your guide on running basic reports in QuickBooks: Run reports in QuickBooks Online.
Please feel free to get back to me here for any additional questions about searching for your past transactions in QuickBooks. I'm more than happy to help. Have a good one!
@Angelyn_T Do we have an investigation number and an update for this issue? I can easily change the filter date in the search which now defaults to 03/01/2021, but I can't reconcile my balance sheet account because the system doesn't "see" any transactions prior to 03/01/2021. There is no way to change the date filter in a reconciliation - no matter how far back you set the starting date, it just doesn't see anything before 03/01.
Thank you for joining the thread, @valprice1. I'll answer your query about the Search function in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
This specific issue with the Search function was already resolved a few days back. Moving forward, the To and From date range is set to 2 years, at most.
As for the issue with your Balance Sheet account reconciliation, I suggest you check its register. This way, you can confirm if the transactions you're looking for are recorded correctly.
Here's how:
If they are, check and see if they're already reconciled. Look for a column with a Check on it, then the letter R. Entries in the register with R on them means they're already reconciled. This would explain why they no longer appear when you reconcile the Balance Sheet account. See the screenshot below for reference:
If they're not in the register, then proceed to record the missing transactions. Ensure they're recorded correctly, along with the exact dates.
In case you bump into issues while reconciling in QBO, you can keep these article for your reference:

@Ryan_M This issue is NOT resolved. People are still talking about it all over the place and I was just in there today and it isn't fixed. There is nothing wrong with my transactions, and they are not reconciled in the register. I spent over an hour with a tech clearing the cache, opening an incognito window, and so on ad nauseum. I'm a ProAdvisor. I know how to check the register.... So, do I need to call and get the case reopened?
I recognize the importance of keeping your accounts accurate, @valprice1.

My Husband & I are no longer able to search any transactions older than two years to the day - unless we go in every time and change the date range in the filter. I have saerched and searched in QB Online and Googled and Googled and can not find a way to set our company file so it searches all transactions every time.... Thank you for any suggestions or support here, Brooke
