First, let's create a tag:
- Go to the Gear icon and select Tags.
- Click New, then choose Tag.
- In the Tag name section, type in your preferred name tag.
- Hit Save.
To add a tag to the vendor bills and expenses:
- Go to +New, then select Bill or Expenses. (If you want to create a Bill, then click Bill. If you wish to make expenses, select Expenses.
- From the Vendor dropdown, choose your preferred vendor.
- Click the Tags column, then choose a tag.
- Complete all necessary fields, then click Save and close.
On the other hand, adding a tag to one item in a split transaction is unavailable in QuickBooks Online. As a workaround, you can use the class feature to track specific line items.
