Allow me to share some clarification about upgrading QuickBooks Desktop, Glo89.
Siab is correct that QuickBooks Desktop 2025 is still unavailable. If you're upgrading your company file from QuickBooks Desktop 2016, we can update it to QuickBooks Desktop 2024 and Enterprise 24.0, as it's the latest version we offer in QuickBooks.
Before doing so, may I know if you have already purchased a QuickBooks Desktop 2024 license? If not, I recommend visiting our QuickBooks Desktop Products website to buy the license.
To install the new version, follow the steps below:
- Locate the downloaded setup file on your computer.
- Click to launch the setup.
- Follow the prompts to complete the installation.
- Then, activate your QBDT.
- Go to the Help menu and select Activate QuickBooks.
- Follow the prompts to complete the installation of QBDT.
Once done, we can directly migrate your company files to the upgraded 2024 version by securing backup company files of your QBDT 2016 and restoring them in your new QBDT 2024.
On the other hand, if you’re installing QuickBooks 2016 or transferring data to another Windows 11 computer, this option is not available as it can cause compatibility issues.
