subscription management tool

Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone is using QBO for subscription management, and if so how. My company is evaluating going into a Saas model and I was wondering if we can manage the customer's subscriptions via QBO

@JuliS

You need a subscription management app to integrate with QB Online.

You don't "need" a subscription management app as suggested.  QB Online Advanced has a revenue recognition function that is designed for subscription-based businesses.  Here is the link to see how it works:

You can try it and see if it will work for your business by using QB Online Advanced test drive.

A reliable subscription management app doesn't only offer the revenue recognition capability. You may need other features like self service customer portal, bill customers based on usage, manage customer trials, schedule cancellations, and others. But if you don't need all those features, QB Online is enough for your case.

Hello, @JuliS.

QuickBooks Online Advanced offers a revenue recognition feature tailored for subscription-based business models. This feature enables you to record payments for products or services to be delivered in the future, allowing for the systematic recognition of revenue over time. For more details and to determine if this aligns with your requirements, please refer to the following article: Set up a revenue recognition schedule in QuickBooks Online Advanced.

On the other hand, if you want to explore third-party providers, you can visit our market or head to the Apps menu within your QBO company to search for one. Here's how:

  1. Select Apps from the sidebar menu.
  2. Go to the Find Apps tab.
  3. Enter a keyword in the search bar or click Browse category.

In addition, learn how to run reports in QuickBooks Online

Please let me know if you have more queries about the subscription management tool. I'll be here to answer your questions.
