I updated one client temporarily to 2022, and I am moving him back due to the lack of scan manager.
I thought I would try it but it adds a fair amount of time to this task.
As a one man band, this is not favorable.
Please reconsider.
No Scan Feature - WHY - What was your sick reasoning on taking out the scan feature? We use this all the time. Thanks for screwing up your software even a little more than it already is. Plan on getting rid of Inuit Products as they no longer serve their customers.
Pretty irritated. I often have documents that are several pages. Using my phone to scan is a joke. Why not have both options?
Allow me to provide you with some updates, @TeeArrArr.
I'm sad to report that in QuickBooks Desktop, the Scan Manager tool was removed and replaced with Upload Files. However, it is available in older and currently supported versions.
On the other side, all QuickBooks users can provide product ideas anytime. There is no limit to how much or how often you can submit feedback or thoughts to our developers.
Here's how:
We also want to let you know that you can participate in the enhancements in addition to our developers. Intuit Developers is a separate forum where you can identify and connect with our developers who can assist with app integrations, participate in software development, and create new business solutions for QuickBooks.
Alternatively, visit this site at any moment to stay up to speed on any updates to our program (desktop and online): QuickBooks Product Updates.
I'm adding these links below just in case you're interested:

I'll always be available if you have any additional questions or require QuickBooks assistance. Have a wonderful day!
It really is nice of you to respond, but the only product idea I have is to stop taking away things we use please.
I hate to say it, but I wonder if this will come back as some app with a fee attached, or only in some upper level software, like the QuickBooks desktop app did.
I have a bad feeling things will slowly stripped away in Desktop, and only available in Online Advanced, until we are all forced to move into it, or move on.
I think we have a right to be disappointed.
Thank you.
Mary
Totally disappointment myself. I employer bought a high-speed scanner for my compute due to the volume I scan. Now QB, in its infinite disconnect from its customers, want employees to use their personal phone? This program is becoming overpriced for very little value and certainly does not listen to its customers.
It is completely disappointing to have the options to scan not available in the new 2022 QB. I was forced to "upgrade" (more like a downgrade) because they were going to stop making updates for my 2019 QuickBooks Pro Desktop and also my Payroll service. Plus the new QB2022 is $500/yearly plus annual payroll $500. When my 2019 was about 500$ (maybe cheaper) and i was able to use for almost 4 years. I may look into working with another software that is more conveniente to use.
ChristineJoieR Your answer is actually very NOT helpful. It is the same as previous answers which tell us the scan feature is gone and to submit feedback.
What WOULD be helpful is if you let your management know about this. Why is it only on us AS PAYING CUSTOMERS to submit feedback which we are not sure will even be seen? How will we know the feedback will move up the chain? How would we know if someone decides to ignore the feedback?
Additionally, why would we have submitted feedback on a feature that we had no idea was going to be removed?
If your company's decision makers, as well as your programmers, actually use QuickBooks and have any working knowledge of the uses for any feature that comes up in discussions as potentially to be removed, they would have known what an essential feature it is.
We are already unhappy with the forced subscription model so this doesn't help.
Can someone give us an REAL update?
I'll also check out the the other links you posted but it seems like there is no actual real answer.
i have the same bad feeling
100 % agree with I Barba - nobody in intuit has an answer that make any sense
I think I put in one of the first complaints about deleting scan manager and have yet to see any sign of concern from Intuit outside of submit feedback. It seems Quickbooks could absolutely care less about customer concerns. I have a son in law who works for Intuit and he has tried to find something out for me and he can't get an answer from anyone internally. Nice product other than that but it's a huge issue for me.
Agreed! QB is a nice product but deleting Scan Manager without warning was a huge disappointment. The lack of response from Intuit is just as frustrating. So we as a company have made a decision to leave the QB Enterprise platform. Where we are going will cost more but will also provide more controls and functionality. Best of luck to those of you who stay. Hopefully Intuit will make some management changes that improve the product AND customer service.

If you are using QBD Enterprise, You may find several options to explore to replace QBD.
Thanks for letting us know there are options. Last year I paid $3000 plus enterprise 2021. I was not able to use it and had to uninstall and go back to 2020 because of Scan manager. It cost me two weeks of going back and re-entering work because of what happened. It cost the company a lot of money and grief to do this. I just got notified that QuickBooks 2022 is out and I will be charged even more this year. I have written many times to into it and posted on this group about the scan manager problem. I have gotten no replies and I do not feel anything is being done. I am so happy to know that there is other software out there that I can go to. Into it is going to lose a lot of big business companies because of this
Count me among the Intuit haters these days. Spent a bunch of time and money upgrading to 2022 from 2020 only to see a little box pop up upon my first login saying Scan Manager was discontinued. Like many others here, we have scanners at every QB user's desk and use the feature daily.
I tried the cell phone app and I could not even find my company to try and upload anything. Logged in as an administrator and as a user and both time the app found multiple company files with the same name, but none were the actual one we are using - total waste of time and as others have said, taking a cell phone image of 10 pages front and back and then manually attaching them to a records is just pure insanity. Did they let some kid out of College come up with that brillant idea??
I had to delete the upgraded databases as they no longer function in 2020 once converted to 2022 and then restore backups to created new 2020 databases. Fortunately I did this late at night when no one was working or I would have had to manually redo a bunch of transactions as well.
I also want to add that the Scan Manager utility itself was already way outdated and clunky, would have made a hell of a lot more sense to put a team together to improve that rather than take it away, don't you think? The owner is so fed up with QB quirks and issues like this that he is just about ready to switch back to an old system and put up with headaches we thought were long gone...
Let's get the Scan Manager upgraded and restored QB - it's a no brainer - I've read a lot of posts here and this topic might be the most heated one yet. Someone needs fired for greenlighting this chnage.
We can't go to online, because we cant take our scans with us! So angry. Its insane.
Hi there, Tony60.
I can see the importance of being able to scan and attach documents to transactions in QuickBooks Desktop
As mentioned by my colleague above, the Scan Manager feature was discontinued in QuickBooks Desktop 2022. You can still use Scan Manager in previous, currently supported versions.
For the latest version, you can now use the QuickBooks Desktop mobile app, and upload your documents to the system using your mobile device. You can then add them to your invoices, purchase orders, or other transactions.
Know that QBDT currently supports PDFs and images in JPEG, JPG, GIF, or PNG format. To utilize this feature, you'll need to download the QuickBooks Desktop app.
If you're using an Android version, please see the steps on the link attached: Attach documents to transactions in QuickBooks Desktop using mobile. It also provides more details about the said functionality.
Lastly, to give you information about the latest enhancements made for QBDT Enterprise 2022, you can check out this article: New and improved features in QuickBooks Desktop 2022.
I got your back if you have any other concerns. I'll make sure you're taken care of. Have a good one!
This is like listening to a pre recorded message. I think we all understand that we can use the mobile app. IT IS NOT AN IMPROVEMENT!!!!! It requires much much more time to input data in this manner. WE WANT THE SCAN MANAGER BACK!!!
LeizyIM What is the point to your response? You are repeating the same thing as all previous QuickBooks employees.
Pointing us to the instructions on how to use the mobile upload is USELESS. That method for attachments is extremely cumbersome and is of no help at all
Additionally, versions in which the scan manager is available will only be supported for a limited time. How is this going to help us once support ends for older versions?
The mobile app is useless for us. We all cant be talking pictures all day. Do you know how long that will take with all the information we scan a day? If you have our back and will make sure were taken care of, put the scan manager back. We spend a lot of money on this program, it just may not be worth it anymore, as your having us have to double our work load as well, costing even more money.
Leizy : stop given answers whit no sense - and install back the scan manager , , is all that we the people wants.
Well, I can not get my invoices entered in a day any longer. I thought it would only take twice as long. It is taking 3 times as long. What took and hour a day, now takes over 3 hours.
It may be time to find another program. I am so far behind now. If anyone has any suggestions for contractor software, please advise.
I feel like there is a move away from the serious accountant/bookkeeper to the app worker that just throws things in on the fly.
Intuit makes plenty of money so I am sure they have deduced they can get more business with these people, and seems geared to do away with us.
Think of how dumbed down QBO is, and how much control is being taken out of the accountant and bookkeeper's hands. You cannot even correct some things without calling anymore.
Features disappear and then come back with a fee.
Scan manager used to charge, so now, it will probably pop up in QuickBooks Advanced, the Enterprise of the online world.
Thank you for listening.
Take a look at E2 ShopTech. That is what I am looking into.

Put scan manager back. Its a time saver. Can not understand why you would discontinue such a useful tool.
